Had upper left molar decide to drop down which caused chewing darn near impossible! Found oral surgeon that would knock me out cause just needle or gas and enough for me to pull a tooth. Surgeon did x-ray and to my surprise he said my upper bone structure on both sides of head is major decay. After some discussion and my son pushing it through I was sedated and woe up about 45 minutes later minus 7 teeth...that's 6 more than I walked in thinking was leaving there. Mouth full of bloody gauze sucked for awhile but that stopped by 2-3 oclock but front of face being numb was fun. Kinda hungry since fasted from midnight till after procedure and no eating restrictions (other than numb face and no teeth to chew with!). Made it to store and stocked up on pudding, milk, ice cream! I had some left over pizza and snacking on it is tough when you have to eat it like a rabbit. Went in weighing 147, wonder how this going to go on ice cream diet? Have got scents of feeling back and able to do yard work so progress is great.

Doesn't sound like much of a good time. Hang tough. Soup or broth can help hunger pangs, as long as it isn't too hot.

Yeah that doesn’t sound like fun at all. Are they able to do some type of denture for the future?

Just to let you know, I do think that strawberry ice cream does have some curative properties.

I am fan of broccoli/cheese soup and egg drop has healing qualities in my mind! Supposed to get with dentist and look into a bridge appliance. I bought some peaches at store and vanilla ice cream...add blender and I'm good there! The pain is none issue surprisingly, Was shopping and saw the Baskin Robbins Baseball Nut ice cream, I have serious weakness for the flavor. Bought it with future plans, don't think those cashews would be in my best interest right now.

can you still whistle?

sounds like an odd question but I had a bunch of dental work done 7-8 years ago and had to retrain for a loud whistle ... and completely lost my little chirping for calling my hummingbirds... odd.

moving on ... what are you plans going forward? just live without 7 teeth, get implants, dentures, etc.???

I don’t think you’re going to want ice cream for a while. Cold sensitivity is pretty standard after dental surgery. Mashed potatoes and room temperature protein shakes is what got me through wisdom teeth surgery.

Thinking opiods may be required.

Cook some chicken pot pies place in blender and enjoy.
I did this when I had my tonsils removed when I was 30.
You can thank me later.

I recommend Coors light. It will numb the pain and keep your strength up.

Yeah or just water since they're the same.

I’ll take a silver bullet over water any day. You must have a better well than I do.

Strange but zero temperature sensitivity where extractions were done! One of major hassles is my sinus's are making up for lost time! Haven't had runny nose in couple years and it is making up for that. Thought I was going in for simple single tooth and xray showed bone deterioration in that area. He mentioned implants, if bone is in state of decay what the devil they plan to implant to and synthetic bone graft takes about4-7 months...then cut/drill and set foundation. And expensive! With my age and what I have done to this carcass there is always chance I could finish out life minus teeth waiting on all that. So a plate or bridge or something along those lines will suit me. Planning on finishing antibiotics and hygiene plan before I try another beer.

Put that Baseball Nut in the blender with some milk, grind it smooth and have milkshakes. Best of luck.
