906 yards....heck, I can't even see that far. That buck would have looked like tiny little ants to me.
Congratulations!

I don't think I can even see that far anymore! Great shot!

on particularly rough days when I'm sure I can't possibly endure, I like to remind myself that my track record for getting through bad days so far is 100%.....and that's pretty good.

I must admit that I am old school and not a fan of long range shooting at animals. Too many variables for the average hunter IMO to wound an animal.

But obviously this hunter knows what he is doing and congrats to him for pulling that off - great deer

I agree wholeheartedly. To shoot longe range — steel and especially hunting — everything has got to be fine tuned. The whole system has got to be tight. In this case, the rifle is an honest 1/8 moa gun, high end scope that tracks perfectly, handloads with a single digit extreme spread, ballistic calculator, kestrel for wind and atmospheric conditions.

Hope you know I meant no disrespect. I just know people - and too many will go practice once and think they got it and try to duplicate.

My Dad taught me over 60 years ago to enjoy hunting but always respect the animal. If a man can be competent with a bow at 60 yards or a gun at 500 plus then no problem -

Can't get the pic to pull up, but a 906 yd shot is incredible. Nicely done.
