I shoot a Savage but my next rifle will be a tikka I think. That is a list you really cannot lose with though.

Tikka and Sako are BY FAR the better rifles vs Rem700/Savage.
But the 22-250 is a barrel burner....If you want to change the barrel yourself, then go with Savage/Remage.

They will shoot lights out. Only had one failure to eject and load with AICS mags in close to 400 rounds

Excellent point. I wish more people would "waste ammo shooting targets." There sure would be a lot less wounded deer that run off and aren't recovered. You're right, though. Probably the best idea is to only shoot your rifle when you are taking an animal. Only losers practice.

I do pririe dog hunt every year, so a barrel get a replaced every three years. They are the same as tires on a truck, they are going to wear out, and barrel makers are building new ones every day.

Personally, I'd consider anything but the Remington.

Here is my 0.02 cents. Sako is the top of the line for a factory rifle. It's gonna shoot and it's gonna look good. Tikka and Savage are both gonna be shooters. To some the Tikka gives a cheap impression and to some savages are ugly. Odds are either one will shoot. The Remington will more than likely require bedding and most like a trigger job. A lot of custom rifle builders start with a Remington 700 because it is a solid platform and there is more aftermarket stuff available. I shoot savages and Remingtons,. I would love a sako, and have not bought a tikka due to the fact it's a plastic sako. I really don't think you are going wrong with anything on your list. All good weapons.

If the additional cost is not an issue get a Sako.

i have a Ruger American PREDATOR that i would not trade for anything mentioned have done nothing but scope it. looks don"t impress me near as much as the way they shoot and what you have to do to make them shoot.
when the going gets really tough, I sit down and rest

The one that comes with the best looking wood stock and bluing. IMO, nothing makes a rifle look ugly and cheap anymore than a plastic stock.

Eurooptics has the stainless Sako 85 listed at $1798. I'm not sure about your price point or what you want to use the rifle for, but at that level, I'm calling APR and getting a custom.

Having owned them all, and shot them all, in nearly every caliber known to man, including many custom guns on these actions, out of the box, off the shelf, Savage, all day every day.
