GDay guys. I realise this could be a long shot but thought it was worth an ask. At te moment I'm tryin to tee up a public land hunt for a mouflon in Hawaii, though II have a suspicious feeling it won't end up working out. My great love is sheep and in lieu Of having lots of money I've got a bit of determination and headstrong youth behind me to try anything. If the mouflon trip doesn't work out I'd be next considering an auodad or deer hunt. My question is, is there much if any in the way of public lab hunting in Texas for people from another country, namely australia? Even if it wasn't an auodad, any kind of deer particularly a whitetail would also be a great hunt. Normally I'd offer a hunt swap but I dont think that's possible with a Texan, all we have in large supply that you don't are kangaroos and city slickers! Though I do love all our deer here.
Any genuine advice would be greatly appreciated, definitely would be happy to return the favour for anyone looking at coming down my way.
I'm just trying to cram as much in as I can while I'm young and not Married with kids, the missus tells me I've got about two years!
Cheers, Jack

Jack, I know you said that your funds are limited, but something to consider would be the trade of a guided Sambar or Rusa hunt in Oz, for a Aoudad or Mouflon hunt here. Both Rusa and Sambar are pretty pricy here in the States.

To be honest of prefer a swap but I thought it'd be hard to do a swap with a Texan as it seems to be the land of exotics! More than happy to offer up a swap if anyone is interested.

Sambar and Rusa are few and far between in Texas. They are rather expensive much more than airfare to Oz. While it wouldn't be the easiest of swaps, I believe it's possible, a better possibility than trying a public lands hunt. I would post up some photos of your past success on Sambar and Rusa in the Exotic's section and see what kind of response you get.
