I just got out of the hospital due to appendicitis and thanks to the navy doctors I have time to go back to texas for a week or so and visit my family. My question is after lookin at the moon phase for the next week and it being a full moon, would it be worth trying to hunt. I did shoot a big one last year but I have never had much luck seeing deer during the full moon phase in dayligh hours. Just wondering if any of you have seen bucks during the daylight hours of a full moon phase and what time do you think would be better. Morning, Evening?? According to the game cams my dad has all the small bucks are together. So does that mean the rut is over??
SUBMARINERS DO IT DEEPER !!

I'de have to say your chances are best right at daylight and then from 8:45ish on 'til lunch time. We see a lot of bucks moving around 10-11 with a full moon.

Hunt during the middle of the day. Best time on a full moon. Don't know why.

That is because the moon peaks under foot at mid day.

I usually have a good number of deer at first light, then between noon and 1 o'clock, then just before dusk. Good luck. I have always believed in hunting fronts more than the moon and its effect on deer movement.

In my opinion, if you like to hunt and can get out in the field, go!! I shot a nice buck @ 2:30 in the afternoon yesterday, cold front blew in on tuesday. You will never know if you aren't there!
