The story behind this pic. One of our platoons were clearing the route when they came up on 14 fuel tanker trucks who had been caught in an ambush and were then set on fire. The Taliban do this for multiple reasons. They will attack civilian convoys to loot them and also sometimes the owners of the tankers will make deals for the Taliban to destroy their trucks bc they make more off the insurance than transporting the fuel then they give the Taliban a cut. The guy in the pic is the platoon sergeant for that platoon. They ended up pulling all the trucks off the route so they could keep clearing.

Lets see some snow pics for us still sweating in our November weather! There is no snow left here it all melted but its still cold and raining. Ill post a few from the other FOB where the other platoons are at. They are 1000 ft higher up than us and it stuck there. Give me a few min. The internet sucks here.

I actually watched one of these ambushes from a small combat outpost. It was insane. RPGs, mortars, machine guns. They don't play around.
