Special hunt today...my 8 year old daughter decided to sit in the stand with Daddy! We saw 7 doe as we drove in! She's excited, but wondering where all the deer are!! Lol

Awesome!!! Good luck and hope there are plenty of deer. How are y'all set up? You bow hunting or are y'all going to sit and watch from the rifle stand? Or MLD? She shoot yet or just along for bonding time?

In a ground blind with a bow. Nestled underdone low trees, feeder about 25 yards away, oats behind us. We are between and down wind. Signs all around. Hoping to shoot, we shall see!

Well we had 7 doe walk up, none close enough to shoot with a bow (had it been rifle season we had our pick)except the one that laid down just to our right. But a cedar tree was between us! Thought we had a good chance but something spooked two deer that had gotten behind us in the oats and they all went running. Came in just as I had hoped, just never has the shot we needed.

Most important part was my daughter loved it! Her sitting on my knee with the binoculars up watching them come in pointing them out was priceless!

We packed up about 645 because Whataburger was calling her name! She asked when we were going again, and I haven't stopped smiling since. Other than her brothers first deer harvested a few years ago, best day I ever had hunting. Guess I know why Pop always smiled when we were out there,

Great that you got her out there and you saw deer. that'll keep her wanting to go back. On another note, the new green chile burger is the shizzle, spicy ketchup on the fries, dayum good.

Great story and a time I'm sure she will never forget. Good on you,Axis 308. I'm taking my Granddaughter on her first hunt this year. She's really excited and I'm even more excited.
