I am a huntmaster for Texas Youth Hunting Program and I just posted a duck hunt on the TYHP website, tyhp.org, hunt # 1516. It is at the JBS Weland Center in Seagoville, one of the best wetland areas in the state. If birds are in Texas by then, many will be at JBS. 12 kids get selected and hostorically most kids have got their limits or close to it each day. Apply on the TYHP website if interested, hunter ed certificate required.

Hey folks, we still need several more hunters for this awesome opportunity. It is only $110 ($55 per person), and includes food/lodging/hunts/education/etc...for both the youth and adult. It is a great weekend. Requirements for the youth is hunters education, experience with a shotgun before the hunt (and comfortable/strong enough to shoot standing up), ages 9-15, and an adult sponsor. Arrangements can be made for siblings or other family members to go as well. In addition, all participants need to be willing to camp for the weekend. Check out their website for more information on the place they will be privileged to hunt at: JBS wetland center A few pictures from previous hunts: Feel free to ask me any questions. If you know of someone that would be interested in this opportunity, forward the information on. For those folks who are on pro-staffs or would like to donate anything for the hunt or kids, let me know.

Bump...still open spots. I don't think people realize how good of an opportunity this is.
If anyone is interested, send me a pm, and I can try to get the kiddos in.

The second pic are my three boys. They had an absolute BLAST. This is truely a World Class hunt and the volunteers are exceptional. If your kid duck hunts or if they have ever thought about duck hunting, this is the place to go. I know it is competing with the Youth Deer Hunt Weekend, but it was an easy decision for us. We would do it all over again if my kids were still that age. Hey folks, we still need several more hunters for this awesome opportunity. The TYHP is one of my favorite events of the hunting season, and I look forward to it every year. I was blessed to grow up on the ranch and really enjoy seeing these kids get the opportunity to enjoy it. Aside from having two morning hunts with experienced guides and dogs, they will have several other activities. They will get a tour of the John Bunker Sands nature center. Last but not least, the food has always been outstanding. It's a good opportunity for them to meet other hunters their age. Look forward to see y'all out there.
Thanks, Justin Braddock

Thanks for the info. I wish I didn't have to work the 26th or I would sign my son up.
