Kind of a let down. Msrp puts it wilth the high end 1-6 scopes that are already proven and available. Not to mention that other companies have entered the market with pretty good glass at a more cost effective price point(SWFA, Vortex).

I was actually expecting it to be more expansive frankly

I like that it is compact with a built in mounting system, numerous reticle options and Trijicons are notoriously tough.

WOW... I'm a fan of high end optics and I'm well aware of the quality but that is expensive. Just how much better can it be compared to other offerings at a much better price point? I'd really need some serious convincing to bite off that much for an essentially AR dedicated scope.

I bet they have some LE and MIL contracts for it.

Do not under estimate Trijicon.

They have a very loyal following and this will sell. There are several things that they offer that people thought would not sell.

Take for instance the Accu-Pin bow sight. I personally love it. And they sell.

Trijicon doesn't sell junk. Their products are very well engineered and executed flawlessly.

I cannot wait to see this and actually see what it is all about.

Skylar, I know what you say to be true. I, however, would get the same machine but it would be labeled SS on the side of it, and I would save some money in the process. I think most are saying this has been done, Trijicon is now doing it, and they are charging more because of their name. I get how that works.

Actually smaller scopes are very labor intensive to build.

Trying to fit all those features into a small chasis cost money. IE labor and I do not know anyone who works for free.

In these times, companies have to make a profit. Economics 101 Bro.

But we greatly appreciate your patronage for the SS, but lets not hijack Charles thread talking about that.

Big let down for me too. Why not some non-battery, glow in the dark crosshairs?

I'll take Nikon or Leupold 223 options and save the rest of my money for ammo and a trip to Cozumel.

I will say that once you get time with highend optics you are screwed!
I remember thinking 300 was a lot of money to spend on a scope, now 1k seems "reasonable"

But this scope is neither of those prices!

Wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday that I hadn't already got for myself. I told her "if you want to get me something, I've got one more scope to get for the 7 Rem Mag." She said "how much?" I said well, if you and the rest of my family help I'll still put money with it, around $1000 total". She said "WOW!" I said "that's just what they cost."

I ride a mountain bike that costs close to 7k
That's just what it costs to get something I will be happy with and that wil hold up to the abuse.

I don't spend money on fancy cars or houses or vactaions though.
I will spend what is needed on what I deem important to me like guns and a good hunting lease.
