Delta Waterfowl and numerous other sponsors are pleased to host and sponsor this year's 2008 Texas State & Gulf Coast Regional Duck Calling Contests at Jewett Civic Center, 111 North Robinson Ave, Jewett, TX 75846. The crawfish bowl, cash and 25 gun raffle after the calling contest attracted over 800 attendees in 2007. Contestants come from across Texas to enter the Texas State for the honor of winning the Texas State Sanctioned Championship duck calling Contest to represent Texas in the World's Championship Duck Calling Contest. The Gulf Coast Regional Duck Calling Contests attract residents from ajoining 3 or more states to test their skills of duck calling. The Texas State Championship Duck Calling Contest and Gulf Coast Regional are two of the premier calling events in Texas, Gulf Coast and United States. Contest Check-in 11:00 A.M. with Texas State starting around 12:00 PM. The contests attract participants from all across the state of Texas and Gulf Coast. The judges will be former world champion qualifiers and other outdoorsman. The contest will be held in conjunction with the Guns, Cash & Crawfish Extravaganza of Delta Waterfowl with gun raffles, cash prizes, and other activities for attendees. Crawfish Extravaganza $25.00 per person with age 17 and under free. $25.00 tickets purchased before or by May 7th will be in $2500.00 door prize drawing.
There will be a Gulf Coast Open Immediate Duck Calling Contest age 14-16 $15.00 and Gulf Coast Open Junior Duck Calling Contest and classes with free calls for age 13 and below free entry. Calling Class taught by a champion caller.
OUTSTANDING PRIZE PACKAGES
There will be a total of $5,320.00 in guaranteed cash prizes for the top six finishers in both contests
with a payout in each contest as follows: 1st $1,000.00, 2nd 750.00, 3rd $500.00, 4th $250.00, 5th $100.00 and 6th will be $60.00.There will also be some trophies.
The World Championship Calling Contest Committee sanctions the contest, with the winner moving on to Stuttgart, Arkansas to represent the State of Texas and Gulf Coast in the World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest to be held November, 2008. Contestants must have attained the age of seventeen (17) years as of the hour of contest for the Texas State and Gulf Coast Regional. Entry form can be down loaded off
