Hey Guys, I am on the committee for the Allen Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and I wanted to see if anyone is interested in this event.

The Allen Ducks Unlimited Chapter would like to invite you to our 14th Annual Fundraising Banquet. The event is for ALL outdoor enthusiasts, and your ticket purchase will include DU Membership, great food, beverages, goodie bag for all attendees, camaraderie, giveaways, raffles and auction items.

Everyone who purchases a ticket is automatically entered into the drawing for a new Crossbow (do not have to be present to win).

All proceeds from this event go to saving and generating wetlands for future generations. 108,569,037 acres were influenced and conserved in North America as of January 1, 2012.

Cost: $60 person / $80 per couple / $25 Greenwing (child).
Ticket purchase includes DU Membership, meal, beverages, goodie bag & Raffle Ticket for the Crossbow

The doors open at 5:30pm. This is a time to mingle, eat, meet some good people, check out the great merchandise.

The auction will start around 7pm, and raffles and door prize is after the auction.

We try to wrap up as close to 9pm as possible, but the event will be over sometime between 9-10pm

Well, we made it. She was too embarrassed to go claim her prize (as she said, she'd have been a 16 year old girl surrounded by 8 year old boys), but we did make it. Spent plenty of money but came away with nothing other than a free decoy for her. Good food. The only complaint was that everything took WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long and didn't flow well - that could be managed a lot better in the future (trying to give objective criticism from an outsider). Closer to 9:00 (as anticipated) would have been much more like it. Only really knew a couple of people there, but it seemed like a good group of guys/ladies.

First off thank you for the comments. We need feedback like that. We kind of get a sense of how things flow during the night, but we need to hear it from the guys paying an attending.

We did have a timeline to go by, but those don't always go as planned.

We knew Burton was coming, and originally planned for him to do the little skit/sketch thing, but then we took that out of the plans...to save time. I wasn't aware until he got on stage that he was going to do the little song and dance. That was time consuming, but i thoroughly enjoyed it.

What did your daughter win that she didn't claim? I might make a suggestion that some of the items won could be delivered, either by a committee member or one of the Greenwings (most of the ones hanging around the stage were the members kids). I will check and see if we have any gifts for girls left and I'd be more than happy to get that to you.

I am also going to bring up some other things also just to kick around to try to make things a little better and enjoyable.

We like new people at the events, and no one person on the committee is unapproachable. They are all a great group of normal guys who just love the outdoors. Most of them having known each other for a number of years. This is my first year on the committee.

I wish i would have met you last night. I also wanted to meet Red D. He bought tickets also. I hope he had a good time

Sorry you didn't win anything, better luck next time. I actually thought i wasn't going to win, but i got lucky and won the last green ticket item....the fly rod package. I don't even know how to use it!!

That was an interesting event yesterday!
Not without hickups, a bit hectic, but good regardless.
I have several questions that I emailed you a minute ago.
Not sure if I am or kids won anything as we had to leave early, and i missed on the gun draw and live auction. Just afraid to think that I missed the prize

No problem Clint. Already talked to one of my friends from Allen who was out of town and he and I will almost certainly be there next year.

She "won" the greenwing gift, but was embarrased to go up with all the younger kids. No biggee though.
