I hunt a low fence 650 acre ranch s. of Bronte, we had a great opening weekend. Of 5 five hunters in camp we took 5 mature bucks 8s 9s & 10s. I missed a rushed shot on the largest 10 I've seen while hunting, so went home empty handed. (One member shot 2 an 8 and a good 9) I'll be back for another chance over Thanksgiving. We saw about 6 other good bucks that are still walking. This was an exceptional hunt for us. The bucks were still running together, only small ones chasing. I've seen a few post from Coke County (nice bucks). Are there any others out there with undated info on activity since opening weekend? I live in East Texas so haven't been able to get info on recent activity.

Thanks, enjoy the hunt!!

Thats alot of mature bucks killed on 650 acres already. Much less if you go and shoot more.

The 650 is part of a larger 3500 ranch. The rest of the ranch was not seeing alot of buck activity. I guess the bucks we bunched up on our section. Most bucks came in in groups of 2-3. We also saw numerous smaller bucks. Like I said this was indead an exceptional hunt, last year we only harvested two bucks and let the rest walk.

i concur

Beer of the world beware. I'll kill an 18 pack just to watch it die.

Thats very good to be seeing th at many mature deer. Just be careful not to shoot up all the breeder bucks.
