 Alaska Wolf Taken During Bear Hunt

Two of the black bear hunters filled their tag today, but the real news is the beautiful wolf taken by Joe Gilbert at two hundred yards, called by a rabbit squeel. Calling a wolf is a first on Kupreanof Island. There is a numerous wolf population, a real untapped hunting opportunity. This was a silver/grey wolf with along the spine. We'll post pics when we get a moment during these high paced bear season days.

Here is the photo of my wolf taken at 150 yards. I called it in from a 1000 yards. It tried to come in down wind of me. It never picked me up before the bullet was delivered.
