I have sold a pistol on here and was wondering if I could shop it to Dallas. We both have chl and I would like to just put it in mail. What do I need to do and what are the legalities

No, you can't. You must go to an FFL and they will ship it to another FFL.

Oh my God, really? Do we have to keep going through this?? Would the mods PLEASE just sticky a copy of the ATF Frequently Asked Questions???????? PER THE ATF, so don't argue with me, argue with them... ATF HomeFirearmsFrequently Asked QuestionsUnlicensed Persons Unlicensed Persons Questions
Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier? A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.
[18 U.S.C. 922(a)(2)(A), 922(a) (3), 922(a)(5) and 922(e), 27 CFR 478.31 and 478.30]
http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/unlicensed-persons.html#shipping-firearms-carrierSo the long and short of it is that you must use FedEx, UPS, or DHL. Can't do USPS unless it's a long gun.

I've been denied by both FedEx and UPS to ship a handgun within the State. I know UPS used to allow me to ship overnight, but it is cheaper going to an FFL. And does DHL still ship within the US?

All it took for me the one time it happened was a quick conversation with the supervisor, and that was FedEx.
Dunno about DHL, never used them, but I had heard that they were pushing big here in the US.
