4-H Pheasant Hunt planned for Dec. 4 in Moore County

DUMAS – The annual 4-H Pheasant Hunt in Moore County will be held Dec. 3-4, according to Texas AgriLife Extension Service officials.

4-H is AgriLife Extension's youth program. All proceeds will fund educational scholarships, programs and other activities promoting learning and leadership skills in 4-H youth, said Marcel Fischbacher, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Moore County.

The hunt will begin with a kick-off reception at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 and Steak Cook-Out at the Moore County Community Building, 16th Street and Maddox Street. On Dec. 4, breakfast will be served at 6:30 a.m. in the Moore County Community Building. The hunt begins at 7:30 a.m. and will finish with a lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the community building.

The guided hunt, kick-off dinner, breakfast and lunch will cost $250 per hunter, while additional kick-off dinner meals can be purchased for $30 per person for non-hunters, said Sue Owens, AgriLife Extension family and consumer sciences agent for Moore County.

The deadline to RSVP is Nov. 26 and space will be limited. Those who plan to participate, or who need more information, should contact Owens or Fischbacher at the AgriLife Extension office for Moore County at 935-2594.
