We have a new place along the Brazos river, it is mostly ag land but get thick and looks like good hunting along the river. It is different than we've ever hunted. But I've heard good things about the bucks in this area? Anybody know more about this area?

i used to own 4 sections just 10 minutes west of seymour. we had big deer but not the numbers you might see elsewhere. you should do well if your on the river.

some areas are hunted hard. if you happen to be in a lightly hunted area, you could see some nice deer. lots of hogs too. good luck, i have hunted that area for several years - some spots good, others not so good.

Potential for a nice place you got there. There are some big deer coming out of that area, especially on the Brazos. Not sure how good the access is to your place but be leary of people walking in or riding in to hunt the banks of the river. Good luck!

We hunt right in the Brazos further down near Elbert(between Throckmorton and Olney). There are good amounts of game, but the pigs are awful. We have some nice bucks, but there is a lot of hunting pressure. The river has flooded 3 times this year, which can make getting around near impossible. We are bowhunters, and are place is great for that due to the abundance of big cottonwood trees.

Seymour is 45 miles southwest of Wichita Falls. We have land on the Brazos 7 miles outside of town toward Throckmorten. We've seen some really nice deer this year and yes, it is also loaded with hogs and turkey. Good luck!

The backside of our place is on the river. We used to see alot of ATV tracks down on the river when it got down. There are way more than enough hogs to go around. There are lots of deer. We manage our 900 acres pretty well for a low fenced place. You will see older deer. Our best deer always seem to come off that backside closest to the river. The trees and stuff are so thick down there its crazy.

Just be careful...they are stacking way too many hunters on many of the leases up there.

We've got a place on the Brazos in Baylor County, a few miles north of Goree, and have seen lots of deer, turkey, and hog. The nice thing about the river bottom in that county is that it is mostly lined by dense woods, then wheat land, so there's plenty of cover and nutrition. Here's a link to the property: http://www.rivercreeklandsales.com/listings/the-brazos-river-ranch.html.
