Just picked up two of these at Academy for $12.99 ea., $7 off regular price. The reviews indicate they are a good deterrent for raccoons, giving a strong non lethal shock when they touch or contact the varmint rails. Has anyone used these and how did they work?

Installed today and tested it, have to say it would certainly deter a squirrel or raccoon IMO, it would deter me. Felt about 3-5 times stronger than putting a 9V battery to your tongue but on your hand...For $12.99+++ I'm onboard

Maybe should have avoided testing it, twice at that. Have been experiencing shock like twinge symptoms in my thumb since and never had before.
