You have to down load it to photobucket. Then you can upload them from there.

Finally figured it out. Not the biggest buck I have ever taken, but not bad for first buck with a bow. Would like to thank Matthews Archery for my Switchback..

That is a nice 8. Like those brow tines. Good deal.
Next time right click on the bottom choice in the column below the photo then hit copy. Paste it on the post and it will show up without having to go to the link. It is a pain though.

Thanks Jgiles. My brother and I have been working on our ranch with TPWD for about 5 years. Finally got the food plots right and we are on the MLDS permit system now. Have 8 food plots and 12 tree stands and have seen some really big bucks in our stealth cam pics. After opening weekend usually just he and I hunting. So might have a spot or two open for someone who wants to bowhunt. Don't want to let just anyone come down, but dedicated bowhunters would be welcome. The big boys usually show up in November.

All I saw was a 4 pt. and 2 does. Drew twice on two different huge Toms, but both times they stepped behind some mesquite brush. Man, it ain't easy lettin' off a bow, inside a tent!

Nice Buck! Congratulations on your first bow buck!

Man with the weather we are having all I can think about is getting to the lease but I have to wait until gun season. AGH! Oh well I will be going down in a couple of weeks to top off the feeders and checking the trailcam to see what I have had coming to the feeder.

Good luck to all of you who are bow hunting!

I've decided I'm not slick enough to hunt in those tents. I had one last year, and hunted out of it a few times, and it's just not for me. It doesn't help being about as big around as the tent. grin

Picture removed.

I got the buck on Santa Rosa Island, California. The island is 58,000 acres and has both muleys and Roosevelt elk. They had been chasing my buck for 2 years as he was VERY skittish and always seemed to be running whenever he was spotted. We were walking around a point near the ocean, got a glimpse of him at a little over 200 yards, and my lucky snap shot broke his back. The guide started whooping and jumping around like a little kid, and seemed happier than his hunter over finally taking this deer.

My hunting buddy however seemed cursed, as he saw very few good bucks (the weather was hot and dry--note the "cave buck"), but finally on the last morning with only 2 hours to go, his lucked turned and he made a tough uphill shot on a nice buck at 225 yds. Here's his 4x5.

Does hunting on an island surrounded by the Pacific make it a high-fenced operation??

Yes to the first, and why should anyone care to the second...At 58,000 acres you can't complain about fair chase. If you could then were does it stop....Continental North America?IMO By the way nice deer I'm jealous. Been looking for a big Mulie for a long time. up

To put it another way, the island is 84+ square miles, about 8 miles wide by 10.5 miles long. It is canyon country, rough as a cob, and with two peaks over 1500 ft elevation. There are very few Texas leases that big.
