Took my buddy out to east tex(marion county)for a camp/work/ pig hunt trip.Sat morning I shoot a boar with my 308 around 9am, he heads out at 12:45 and at 1pm gets his first hog ever with my ar15, then sun morning I get my first handgun hog at 25 yards.454 casull did the trick, complete pass through, hit him in the neck/shoulder came out the other side.

He is hooked now to say the least.We had pigs squealing every morning and evening whole time we were there, fri afternoon to sunday afternoon. Skeeters were terrible but ole thermacell was a life saver. First time handgun hunting and its pretty awesome, kinda reminded me of my first hog kill with a bow. Might leave the 308 in the safe and try the pistol for deer this year.

Hows that scope work out on the taurus? i've got taurus 44ss6 and i am hoping to get a hog with it soon, but i think i want to stick with the open sights.

it works good, its only a 2x but its so thick on our land 50 yards is about the maximum shot anyways. We shot it at 100 yards at the range and had pretty good luck.

dang nice hogs look like one heak of a good time , i was raised in cass county in avinger texas right by marion , still live in cass about eight miles north of hughes springs , dang hogs are all over , hope to get a deer, or hog with my bow next weekend . can,t wait to get after them , again way to put them down got a sagia 308 i am wanting to break in on a batch of hogs

Ive got aq Raging Bull but no scope. Im good with open sights to about 25 yards or so, I think mine has a 6 3/4" barrel on it. What is your range with the scope?

the gun scope combo is good to 100 yds at least, thats as far as we have shot it. I was aiming at a clay pigeon and hit 2 inches low right in line,then my buddy took a shot and no more pigeon. In a hunting situation I don't plan on anything over 50 yds until I get more practice and confidence.
