Yesterday evening even though it was hot I decided to head to the box and see if the bunch that had been coming in every night would do it again. About 8:00 they came into the edge of the field and worked their way into the feeder. There were 3 sows but one of them was hanging back from the group. They made it to the feeder 100 yards in front and the 3rd sow wouldn’t join up with the others so I picked the biggest sow, she went down, then they all came running towards me and I got the second sow, then 2 of the 15 piglets. I’ll tell you those little suckers are pretty small when they’re running right at you but I did what I could. Coyotes are happy for sure.

The little ones are dumb as doorbells and don't seem to know much about caution, but they sure can scoot and are small targets. I always try to take out the big ones first, and especially if they're running.

You did good putting the smack on 'em!
