Yesterday evening I visited the neighbor. He was not in a happy mood. Spent all day at the soccer field watching his little grandkids ‘play’ soccer. His wife, the grandma, insists he does this every weekend. And I remember sitting and watching grandkids doing the same thing. I used to take the camera, just to have something to relieve the boredom by taking pictures. The worst kid sport to watch has GOT to be soccer.

We used to watch T Ball and Track, but they don’t run on forever like soccer does. Track, on a hot day, was tough on a parent or grandparent due to the time involved, but at least things were happening. Little kid soccer is just 2 small mobs in different color jerseys running aimlessly around, not knowing what to do but follow your own mob.

Baseball and the joy of rainouts

Soccer wasn’t too bad for us, but he was also 3 at the time. I’d actually have to tell Colt to let the other kids including the other team get the ball. Otherwise he’d just score 20 goals a game. Think it kind of took the fun out of it for him. He is extremely competitive.

We just started baseball and did our preseason tournament. We’re 8U so it’s coach pitch (5balls 3strikes) none of our kids are great hitters yet. Colt can hit it, but he’s the smallest on the team, he stepped up to play in 8U to be with his buddies,But out of 3 games we scored 1 run and it was Colt. We just got shut out yesterday 9 to 0. So far this season isn’t shaping up to be great.

Think you can see in this video when I was telling him to back off a little and let the other kids get it. It last for about 5 seconds and he goes and steals the ball lol.

Baseball....even MLB. At least soccer is active.

Youth sports are the bane of society

Agree with soccer as toughest kid watch sport; tons of 1-0, 2-1 juggernaut defensive matches; gets only slightly better as a teenager to adult game. Too much defensive posturing in that sport for my taste, hockey is the close cousin of it, but just played on ice, not my cup of tea. When fans and sportscasters are constantly calling out the defensive nuances of a particular sport such as soccer or hockey, that sounds like code for "slower and boring" to me, lol ..Give me the tier 1 sports of American football, baseball or basketball any and every day over those two

...but can end in a tie. Why even take the time to play the competition if there isn't going to be a winner. [censored] stupid.

Sure wish Mumblety Peg had caught on I'd watch that. Nothing better than watching the loser have to dig that twig out of the ground with their nose & teeth.

Little Girls, kid pitch softball was brutal

99.9% chance of the pitcher walking the batter over and over and over and over and over

And the score ends up being like 17-15 every game

Soccer is why my girls played volleyball in college.

Soccer is hot and boring, but we couldn’t get out of Basketball fast enough. Too much parent drama in basketball and it’s spread to the players as well.

Volleyball is where it’s at. There is some parent drama, but it’s nothing like basketball. I’ll also take an air conditioned gym over a 100 degree soccer/baseball/softball field any day.

I said many times when my son played soccer that it had to be the most boring sport around - even if your kid is playing. I say double the size of the nets so there is more scoring to liven up the sport. Watching a couple of hours in the heat for a 1-0 game was too much for me. I still made every game, and cheered him on - but zzzzzzzzzzzz

My oldest son tried soccer, and found out he couldn't run. The youngest got his growth spurt early and had giraffe legs; could out run everyone, but then tangled them up and fell down. Gave it up. Thank God they loved fishing and hunting.

It’s my fault. The neighbor was really complaining about having to watch that mind numbing kid’s soccer. That took me back years, to when we had kids and then grandkids. Kid soccer was easily the worst thing to watch. I thought maybe it was just me, so I asked you folks. Looks like soccer is number 1 on the ‘don’t want to watch list’.

Kids sports are all boring until they get to jr high. High school is a blast! My kids played soccer one year and I convinced them it was for sissies. Worst sport ever.
