I have two. New York Hill in Thurber is our favorite, usually eat lunch there a couple times a month. Another is Sissy's in Breckenridge. Great breakfast, good CFS and burger.

NYH is legit, I will check out Sissies. Is Ernie’s worth a stop anymore?

Good topic Stompy, hopefully some really good places get mentioned Man I miss the old original Black Eyed pea and Dixie House, they were the best in the Dallas area. Unfortunately I have not found any places in the N Dallas, Plano or Richardson area that are a must go to place. The Original Market Diner on Harry Hines Blvd. is pretty good, original Mama's Daughters diner on Royal Lane at Harry Hines is good, their Lewisville location not so much! All of Babes Chicken Dinner House are very good, large portions a little pricey though Been to Cartwright's Ranch House in Denton twice, it is located on the square, CFS was Big and very good, all other meals were good too. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/03/full-1274-448233-cfs1.jpg) The Cattlemans Cafe in Blueridge is also very good,

Dahlia's in Liberty Hill is really solid on everything I have tried there.

I was just in Breck today, wish I knew about Sissy’s. Should have sent you a text for a recommendation. Oh well, next time it will be Sissy’s!

I have mentioned this before. The Prairie House in Lewisville is on point, especially the CFS.

Your White azz was in the hood eating there? When I worked, we would eat there all the time. They were a big customer of ours (SYSCO FOODS). It was way more food than you could eat. The owner named Walt played for the Detroit Lions back in the day.

I stopped in Strawn at Mary’s for lunch today. Wife was cooking CFS for dinner tonight so I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and iced tea for lunch. It was over $14 before tip. Didn’t even get any chips or fries. Last time I’ll stop there. I was wondering why it wasn’t as crowded as I remembered. I’m in Breckenridge around lunch quite a bit and looking forward to trying Sissy’s. I’ve eaten at most of the other restaurants in town and haven’t found a favorite. Ken’s used to be my go to but the last couple of times it’s been very slow getting out of there. The Mex place by the hotel is pretty good. When I’m in that area my favorite place is Mae’s meat market in Eastland. I haven’t had a bad meal there yet and eat lunch there at least three times a month.

Has a new owner now and seems he's changed the food or the cook. Food is not as good.

I like NY Hill based off your suggestion a year or so ago, also the smoke stack place across the street is good . In Justin, we like Lonesome Spur especially for breakfast

We went to Blue Mound Cafe in Arlington, just s of I-20 on Little Rd a few days ago for breakfast and it was very good. I had the CFS with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns and wife had a huge omelette, both came with huge cat head biscuits and gravy. 1st there as we were looking for another place, but it unfortunately closed down.
