I have a couple boys who were lucky enough to get drawn to turkey at James Daughtrey this spring. I was just curious if anyone has had any luck on this hunt in the past? We have some experience turkey hunting. Always interesting going into a new area though.

I went on a deer management hunt this past fall. Compartments 4 and 5 have lots of birds. I would pick one of these! Also, the compartments around the Hwy 99 boat ramp are good. If you can pick your own compartment, ALWAYS ASK which compartments are the best. The managers on this hunt can put you on the best compartments.

Pretty tough hunt from what I heard. Cold front definitely didn’t make things any easier. My boys did not see a bird. Apparently they heard some gobbles, but grandpa could not confirm. When they checked out, 0 turkey had been shot.
