Yes sir. This is one of the few Democrat ideas I may actually agree with. My Hope is that they and Trump are right. Of course as spoiled as we've become here the dissenters may be right and the price differences may be right about making the cost of certain goods way too high. We'll see.

I'm all for it. We do need the MFGs in the US to not just raise prices to the same level as foreign imports w/ tariffs otherwise it defeats the purpose

I heard the libturds are all boycotting Target for lent since they pulled back on DEI. Saying they can make more impact than conservatives did when we stopped shopping DEI "woke" business like Bud Light. Might just drop in there instead of Walmart just for giggles and grins the next month or so.
BTW.. I'm all for Tariffs as long as the home town producers don't abuse it. Never bothers me to pay a bit more for American made.

We actually make a bunch of really good industrial things and equipment. The USA makes a lot of stuff. Just drive around an industrial park sometime.

With OPEC and pricing it is hard to tell for sure, but noticed the morning after implementing the tariffs gas went up .41 cents overnight. Could also be the Zelensky meeting.....

I am not too concerned about the tariff, it is meant to drive manufacturing back home to USA, which is a good thing.

Minimal effect on Texans. Might see a touch on produce but that’s about it.

Only real effect is energy along northern border, but if US responds on energy they will back down real quick.

i work for an air conditioning distributor who is looking at a 15% price increase on equipment assembled in Mexico, which is just about everyone's residential equipment. At least 10% increase on Chinese supplied components, which is just about every manufacturer as well.

Hopefully this game of chicken doesn't go on too long.

Same with aluminum. Hard to bid projects that won't make for several months only to find out they are now out of budget.

Tariffs had nothing to do with this, especially down here in the Gulf Coast region where we have about 60% of the nation's refining capacity.

Every load of gypsum board or sheetrock, every load of rolled paper, every steel coil, were all made in USA and come right out of the factory. We will be ok. We need to re-build our domestic economy.

Making our meds and microchips here would seem to be very important to me. Look at what happened to the car market a few years back. With all the people on blood pressure and more lifesaving meds, we’d be up the creek if they stopped supplying them to us.

Taiwan sure wants us to protect them from China. Them making big investments in our country to start building more of the chips here will be a good thing.

Several suppliers raised powder prices in mid February 15%-18%. It's common to see a price increase at the first of the year of 2%-5%, but 15%-18% mid February!!! Tariffs are my only guess.

I was told last night at the auction that horses imported from Mexico get a $3000 per horse tax now. I can't find anything online. Maybe that is something to say to raise prices.

I think the tariffs are too broad. Yes, we should encourage companies to make cars, meds, microchips, and many other things here. I'm all for that. Putting tariffs on Mexican produce, however, is only going to hurt consumers, not magically make people start growing avocados in Iowa. If they are not rolled back completely, I hope we see a more targeted approach.

I see these tariffs a long term play to entice companies to shift production back to the US. It's going to cost us a bit in the short term but think long term (after Trump's term) that we will see the benefit. I think history will show it to be a good move. Will need to keep corporate taxes low to keep companies here.

Medicine and some chips being built overseas is our biggest threat IMHO.
