One week in to a total knee replacement. I have been dealing with knee problems for 30 years and it finally became obvious that only TKR was the only option. Just had my first postop and the surgeon was pleased with the result and said we may be able to do the other one in a couple to three months. At 72, these new parts should last me the rest of my life. So far, the hardest part of recovery has been the therapy. OMG, pt people are just plain mean! A couple of weeks before the surgery, one of the deacons at church asked how I was doing. I told him if I was a truck, I would trade me off. The suspension is shot, the oil pump is weak and all the seals leak. Having survived two different cancers and squeaking through a bi-lateral pulmonary embolism since 2016, I'm pretty lucky to still be here and would like to finish out my time in a mobile fashion. Getting old is not for the faint of heart.

Wow, you have been through the wringer. So glad you survived and are doing your PT. These folks will really work you, but the more they do, the better the results you will have.

3 years for me. Watch those stitches and first sign of redness get in front if the Doc asap. PT was hard but totally worth it. Best wishes.
