I just love to hunt doesn't matter if it's a giant or a doe, just being in the woods and doing what I like. It's the whole experience not just pulling the trigger. I've solved a lot of world problems and fixed many issues sitting in a stand by myself.

Say what you will about "sitting in a box over a corn feeder," fewer and fewer men can sit, alone, quietly, for any length of time.

You can pretty much see my philosophy below. I hunt most of the year with muzzleloaders, and in particular get an adrenalin rush when I take one with a flintlock. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/02/full-45444-445379-cavemen9.jpg)
If you can't laugh at yourself, give me a call. I'll gladly laugh at you. "I keep trying to see Nancy Pelosi's and Chuck Schumer's point of view, but I can't seem to get my head that far up my [censored]." Senator John Kennedy, Louisiana

I don't care if I kill another deer, but I love to hunt, if that makes sense. I probably will but it not a priority. I do still love the hunt, sitting and watching the wildlife. All my hunting goals are met with Whitetail, Mule deer, Elk and Antelope. Now it's all about making my ranch the best I can. That's where my hunt and fun are now.

I get a bigger thrill seeing my wife shoot one that She likes. Sitting here now looking up at our 2 biggest (euros) and hers is noticeably bigger than mine.

My goal is always to better the game and the land. I don’t care about shooting a deer that scores great if he’s still in his prime. I kill the ones that are already starting to go downhill. This is one that a lot of novice hunters in this area would have shot but I would rather let him pass on his traits to fawns right now.
