After 2 and a half years drove it on the highway. Not finished yet but getting closer. Runs good, stops good, steers good, doesn't get hot and no leaks. Got a ways to go but I see that light at the end of the tunnel. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/02/full-9089-444572-img_3706.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2025/02/full-9089-444573-img_3708.jpg)

My girlfriend in High School had a white 65 mustang with a 289. Loved that car…..

I have put about 50 miles on it so far. Having some trouble adjusting the carburetor to get it to start easier and idle smoother. Finally found it is the PCV that is causing the problem. I can disconnect it and plug the line and everything is solved. But I need a PCV. Seems as if the PCV is letting too much vacuum into the engine and starving the carburetor. I am getting an adjustable PCV valve that you can tune for the amount of vacuum you want at idle then how much you want at cruise. I drink cheap beer so I can buy more stuff I probably don't need for my cars.

I had a good friend in high school that his dad always had at least one or two of those that he bought at car auctions back in 75-76. He could pick them up for about 500 bucks back then if I remember correct. Me and him would throw his paper route on the weekends and after school out of them. Wish I would have known they would be so sought after back then.
