Without origin labeling your burger has a high degree of not being.

Yep, hopefully that changes soon.

In short, a lot of effort.

Same here.

If I'm standing in Home Depot, or a local hardware store, I turn the label around and see where it is made. If it is China, and I have a choice, I put the Chinese item back on the hanger.

Having been a welder for 29 years, we use Vise Grip brand welding clamps. I bought 10 of them that long ago. Made in USA. The same clamps now, are not U.S. made and cost more than I gave for them, back in those days. It's a sad state of affairs we are in.

A good friend of mine is that guy that when he gets into something new, he goes all in, and spends money.

20 years ago, he got into fine Woodworking. He told me the best chisels and gouges come from the U.S., England, Switzerland, and Japan. I said, through the history of the world, those countries are good at making steel.

All these years of building with steel, you will see Made in Mexico on your square tubing and your C-purlin. Every structure I've built, the latest was August 2023, the I-beam had raised letters on the web USA. I've never built anything with I-beam that wasn't USA I-beam. Why? That piece of steel is too important. If it fails, people could die.

The same happened inside Fastenal ten years ago. I needed 10,000 pound clevises for flying those I-beam. CM brand U.S. made were $20 a piece. I grabbed the last two. I told the guy ringing me up that these were the last two, but there were still some of those "yellow ones". He said I never sell those yellow ones, they are made in China.

Again, an item you are trusting your life with.

[quot just e=topwater13]Amazon would have to shift their offerings quick if we all decided to practice what we are preaching. [/quote]

Something tells me these guys don’t shop much on Amazon. Nor do I think our purchases would matter much to them. Just a drop in the bucket.

We have abdicated our place in the world when it comes to building, growing and producing, Trump wants to get us back leading the world in production. I agree with President Trump, America first, and I'm willing to pay more for American products.

I try to make a conscious effort to buy USA, but it has become harder...often there are no USA made options. Now, like many others, I often have to settle for made in China for a USA company.

We all need to practice Whoa more.

Being a typical teenager, I smirked at the cheap, Japanese tools my dad bought to carry in the trunk of the car. (1970s.) I have that little set now...and they're WAY better quality than the modern Chinese junk. bang

Origin Labeling……as in what country did your beef come from? Every part of your beef. Where did it come from? Without Mandatory Country of Origin Label you don’t know. Currently Oklahoma Independent Cattleman Association are trying to make it law in Oklahoma. MCOOL been debated and a bill was pushed by Dusty Johnson ( be nice) Chuck Grassley and some other Senators. Got squashed by other Feds. Tx SW Cattle Raisers don’t support either. 2 of big 4 kill plants owned by Brazilian Companies. You think they using all American beef??

Like the topic…..USA Made!

Yes but not normally in your higher end grading. Most imported beef is grass feed so it’s normally won’t grade high making it more adapt for burger

My dad used to say "you know things are getting bad when the good stuff is made in Japan."

I will pay more for made in USA when I can. Best place to find USA made on the cheap is thrift stores and estate sales.

All five of my deceased father-in-law's grandsons (grown men) had every opportunity to take his tools when they were all helping clean out the garage. I wound up with most of them and 99% are made in the USA. flag

I've been meaning to dedicate an afternoon to going in and wandering around at West Ave. and I10, which is close to where I grew up and is now a thrift store "mecca". Even if this gringo will stick out like a sore thumb. I don't need a darn thing, but finding old, good quality stuff is very entertaining. Something tells me though that their regular clientele is pretty "sabe" about good tools and how to get them cheap.
