I cant see it effecting me much. Only thing if I needed a Ford or Ram truck it would. I bought a Samsung TV 4 years ago its been awesome. Samsung made in south korea.

Lumber will go through the roof at least initially, lumber prices climbed toward $580 per thousand board feet, approaching eight-week highs of $600 on January 16th, driven primarily by the impending 25% US tariff. Your Samsung TV was made in Mexico. It is still too early to know the full impact, but the uncertainty is part of the problem.

The lumbar increase was during Biden times. Only the china tariffs were in effect going on 4 years at that time

Really too early to tell completely. A blanket statement that the tariff is 25% on Chinese goods doesn't explain what is considered under it. Many things are made of US manufactured parts, shipped to China for assembly, then returned here. The labor cost on this end is what drives this. how many times have you looked at some electrical components and seen "hecho in Mexico", or US parts assembled in Mexico? Since they own about 40% of the pork industry, and close to 500,000 acres of US land they can just prices in other ways to make up the deficit. Im think they are majority stockholders in GE also.

But, the political climate in NY, they could open a plant in Erie, PA. Which is also quite close to their Ontario plant.

I work in ag and it could have a massive impact there. Add in RFK jrs hatred of ag chemical companies and there's a few reasons to be nervous about what's coming up for this industry.

I would love to see it become MADE IN THE USA. But, Trump has already said its temporary, just to force them lower their prices. This time it appears they are willing to fight back! Why would anyone build in the USA for a temporary deal? I don't believe the American companies will start bringing their own companies work back to here. If they start to rebuild here, won't the foreigners just lower their prices in order to force the American companies to stay where they are? As I see it, it's a case of who flinches first, and the USA has had enough of of rising prices, or at least I have!! Please explain to me.

It is a sad affair we have been in for a long time. Some products are not available as U.S. Made.

There was a time the U.S. lead the world in manufacturing high quality products. I would love to see us in that situation again. I use lots of U.S. made tools and instruments, every day, that my Grandad bought in the 50's and 60's .
