The ‘new kid’, Sam was born this morning. He’s the first great grandchild. Small, but healthy, and I hear he’s loud. Thank goodness he was small, because his mom is a tiny gal with tiny narrow hips. He’ll be the first to sleep in that cradle I made. About dang time this generation started producing kids. They’re 10 years in age older than when we were having kids. Should his first gift from me be a football, or maybe a gun,

We were in Ohio when my son was born. I went to the CMP store while my wife was still in the hospital. I have a picture of him with his Garand when he was a month old. Congratulations.

Sam was 6 pounds and 8 ounces and 19” long. Quite a bit bigger than I had expected. The mom is so little. Boy, I bet that hurt. About 24 hours in labor. I already provided a wooden baby rattle. They all have 5 dried and hand selected Pinto beans in them. I passed the word that it will hurt if little Sam whacked anybody in the noggin. Not my problem. I just make the rattles.
