I need a new place to store photos from my phone so I can post them here. I used Photobucket in the past till they started charging. Then switched to Postimage but I am having a heck of a time downloading from my phone now.

Anyone use one of these "hosting" places?

I'm trying to post some hunt pics

You should be able to post direct from your phone, without a hosting site. ^^ 10th button from the left. (Cut them down to 800 with a photo editor first.)

Post them directly. If you want to use a hosting site then Imgur is ok

Imgur, just make sure you set everything to private unless you want your photos being seen by everyone.

I use Flickr (Pro) but it's $80 a year.

Images from a good camera are too large to put on here so another editing step is needed. Images from that camera to IPhone are a pain too. Dumping them into a host that reduces their size and can be easily saved to the phone is a time saver.

I took Buzz’ post to be specifically about his phone.

Just take a screen shot of large pictures then crop and post here. Easier than posting to a hosting site and copying the url.

That’s why I use Facebook. I don’t need iTunes either to get them on my phone.

On an iPhone when you upload from photos there is a little button bottom right hand side. Before you select your photo click that button and change the size to large and it’ll compress the picture down enough to post. No need screenshot or crop anything.

Yep. Getting the pic on my phone from my Canon Rebel without iTunes is the trick.

I store all my files on my OneDrive. Then just have the app on my phone. Anything I have on my computer is available on my phone up

When you load your photos directly to the THF, THF becomes your hosting site. The down side to this is that you lose all control of that photo, effectively it becomes THF property.

If you use another hosting site, and link to it from THF, you can always remove that photo if you want to, or even edit it.

After my experience from photobucket, I don’t trust these hosting sites any more. They lead you to believe you have control, then they can take your photos hostage unless you pay them. When photobucket started charging, they made it virtual impossible to get your photos back. I hate photobucket, they have photos of mine I will never see again, and I’m not going to pay them their ransom to get them back.

Did I mention I hate photobucket? I don’t hate much, but I hate them with a passion.
