I don’t give financial advice, but as a longtime tech guy in the AI space, the release of DeepSeek R1 is likely to be disruptive, especially in the short term. It could impact NVIDIA's stock price and the broader AI/tech market.

Be cautious—this might drive market volatility. If you’re not following it, I’d suggest doing some research on DeepSeek and how it could put downward pressure on $NVDA and many tech stocks due to reduced GPU demand and much cheaper API costs.

Pending tariffs, TikTok ban, Panama Canal, and probably other negative China stuff Trump has thrown out there. IMHO this is a big well timed shot over our bow in response. No doubt there is some intentional market manipulation with this. A lot of lies with just enough truth to make it seem feasible to the market. Like grossly understating how many Nvidia chips are being used could be one example. It certainly was effective.

. . Nvidia isn't getting silicone from the United States, the China argument is irrelevant. Tariffs will affect the entire segment.

Has nothing to do with any perceived need for Nvidia to secure Chinese silicon and everything to do with what is being reported as China no longer having a need for the chips it couldn't get from the US. Trust the Chi-coms all you want - we'll see.

Not only does DeepSeek collect "text or audio input, prompt, uploaded files, feedback, chat history, or other content that [the user] provide[s] to our model and Services," but it also collects information from your device, including "device model, operating system, keystroke patterns or rhythms, IP address, and system language."

The chips are made overseas, they aren't manufactured directly by Nvidia themselves. If they came up with a new design, it's as simple as them contacting those same factories and having it made.

She quit a half million dollar job at 31 and is now heavily in the IT sector. He is the CEO of an IT company with a billion dollar cap rate. I know each very well and will tell them their observations are incorrect.

You could be playing golf with Elon Musk tomorrow and the chips would still not be manufactured by Nvidia themselves here in the U.S.

China makes up 12% of their market share. If they gain the ability to make something comparable or better, not only will they stop buying it, they'll start selling it to people for less. Whatever they're up to, got priced in over a 48hr period, to the tune of $600B. Forgive me if I don't think the CEO of a company has more insight than the institutions that traded 600 times what his company is worth in 2 days.

All we have to do is spam it with requests about Tianamen Square and we can ruin the algorithm, lol.
