I drove a '21 Colorado Z71 for thee years. Put 100k on it during that time. Great truck! It got around my west Texas lease Great. Recently traded it and got back to Silverado. I miss Colorado, but the Silverado gives me a lot more room.

Drive a 91 Dodge Dakota for almost 10 years. I was much lighter back then! The Ford Ranger looks pretty good on the road.

I wanted to put myself in a Ranger when I bought my current truck. I didn’t even make it all the way up to them on the lot before I knew that was a non starter. Not ego. I’m a fat kid. It wasn’t going to happen.

Current midsize models seem as big as 1990ish full size 1/2 tons. Remember the Toyota T100?

If I was in the market now that my kids are older and don’t always go with us everywhere I’d probably consider one. The new tacomas look nice but no thank you on the price tag. I’d more than likely go after the Colorado or canyon and even those are ridiculously high. And fuel mileage wise they are not any better so there’s not much reason to consider them other than I really don’t need a full size.

I have a 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road Long Bed, just wish it had a little bit more power for towing. I looked at the Canyon and Colorado along with the Jeep Gladiator but none of them had the 6 foot bed.
Then again I am only 5'6" with shoes on and under 160#.
On the full size 4X4's, I can't even see into the bed much less reach over into it.

My 4 banger Tacoma is the best truck I’ve ever owned.

Sounds like a sewing machine when you pop the hood.

Was a die hard Chevy guy until they shipped manufacturing to Mexico and everything went to pot.

Had a fancy Silverado and the engine failed after 40k miles.

Will only buy Japanese motors from now on (despite my love for the Chevy and Ford look)

I was thinking about a Ranger or Colorado. I had a 2014 Tacoma that I liked a lot. It did not do well towing my Mule so I traded it for a 1/2 ton Ram. I just can't get with paying almost the same price for less space and no real gas mileage advantage. Economically they don't make sense to me.

I bought a 2018 Colorado new in the summer of 18’ . Drove it for 7 years, 122,000 with zero issues. Loved it enough I just handed that one down to my son and bought a 2024 model of the same truck

Autotrader shows that there are still a few new left over 2023 Tacomas with the V-6 around the country. It looks tempting before a hybrid is all there is in Tacomas. I won't buy a hybrid anything.

2015 Tacoma TRD off road. Admit? Plenty of my friends with half tons to one tons have been grateful for that little truck at one point or another. It’ll get to spots when their trucks can’t.

I did the same thing Chris did. I went to look at the ranger Raptor, The closer I got to it the junkier it looked. Same with The Colorado ZR2.

The Taco IForce Max. But Who's gonna pay $80K for one. roflmao

If i had another kid out of the house I would buy a GMC canyon AT4X.

Loved the Tacoma's too prior to this year, but now they are too big, as previously mentioned, they are the size of a 90's era half ton.

Couldn't use one as a do-all but it would be my daily driver alot of the times.

We own two Tacomas. Don’t need anything bigger. Why wouldn’t I admit that? They’re fine for my needs.

I would probably drive one if i was not so big and fat. A powerful midsize 4x4 would be great for climbing hills around my home in winter.

ZR2 and At4x are a better truck for the money if you use them.

I have Chevy Colorado with the ecodiesel for a company truck and it is sweet. 28-32 MPG. Can park it anywhere with ease (I live and work in Houston proper, so this is a big deal). 184,000 miles with replacing just a turbo boot and a transmission. I keep a half ton truck for a personal vehicle but unless I have to... I drive the Colorado. I am also 5'9" and 180 pounds.... if I was larger... I probably wouldn't like the small truck so much.

Like some of you guys, I cannot fit in a Tacoma.... back of my neck hits the top of the door opening. Think the last real midsized trucks I owned and fit in were my 88 and 92 F150s. 11-14mpg baby.

Those 88 and 92 F150s were full sized trucks. Same body as F250 and F350. Just lighter undercarriages.

I know it rust. It's just when you compare them to today's pickups they look like midsize models!
