so I have a normal AR 15, .223 and want to screw on my SYTHE suppressor and have at it. Shooting normal factory loads.

do I need to make any kind of changes, gas block? I'm not up to all in the AR world.

You would need a 1/2x28 adapter for the scythe to fit, since it's a 5/8x24. Otherwise, you could run it just fine.

I wouldn't mess with gas blocks or anything until after you've shot it and seen what it needs, if anything at all. If it's overgassed, you'll know it when you get fumigated, lol.

I'd recommend getting a adjustable gas block. Simple way to know is watch where the cases get ejected too. 3-4 o'clock is where they should go. My guess you'll start having fly forwards in the one o'clock direction. Don't use a crush washer when install the adapter.

I believe most guns are overgassed to ensure reliable function, so I'm leaning on adjustable gas block. It's truly the best way to tune the gas and save some wear on your brass too.

Gas block isn’t necessary… but it will make shooting a lot more pleasant.

You need one of the highlighted Sythe mounting systems. Bravo Direct, 1/2 x 28 (left) would be my choice.

If it's ejecting forward, you will need an adjustable gas block. Turn it all the way closed, then open it one click. See where it is ejecting then. You're looking for 3 to 4 o'clock ejection.

Know that your BCG and subsequent ammo in the mag is going to get lots of carbon on them. It creates the scenario of cleaning the BCG, upper, and re-oiling everything after shooting.

Yup, only thing that drives me crazy about shooting suppressed. I'll do my best to clean any un-shot ammo in the mag afterwards. I also think my AGB is a little hot/open. Need to turn it down a bit.

^ Small ultra-sonic parts cleaner works great for cleaning up the BCG. I have better things to do than scrubbing carbon from a BCG.

Flow through suppressor design has alleviated most of the carbon and overgassing issues. Highly recommend it.

Made entirely by "2A Armament" CNC in Idaho, we extensively tested this "Balios Lite BLR16" rifle. This is a ultra quality lightweight focused factory built AR and it ain't cheap. But I've used this and will use it in the future for competitive options for guns that shoot a lot worse than this one and cost even more. TD is here, farting of course, and he'll help me break down the high attention to detail of this Balios Lite AR. For instance even the handguard has milled out Pic rail to save weight.
Lots of infield shoot testing is shown with a bonus bit shown at the end. We found the BLR16 Lite to deliver on its price tag and dominate other high end ARs in both SAWC and accuracy.

This! An adapter is ok but not my first choice. I do the same thing with my Silencerco Omega. Other way is a QD brake (ASR option listed above) and just leave it on the rifle.

Superlative Arms makes a really, really good adjustable gas block. I have to run one for my .300 blk to be able to shoot subs vs. supers. Just a few clicks to find that sweet spot.

lol Aero been milling their pic rails for years even more so then the 2A Armament. Seekins has been doing the same with there NOXs stuff just to name a few. Love how the guys in the video are so amazed

5lbs for a complete 16" gun is light, regardless of who makes it. It's a billet lower/upper with pretty nice features, it's a nice rifle.

It's a mid-length gas system, so I would just send it as is. Unless you're dumping mags, you're not going to be eating a ton of gas.

Ammo gets dirty, gun gets dirty, that being said I haven’t cleaned mine in a few hundred rounds and it functions fine. I also don’t have an adjustable gas block on it, 223 just doesn’t seem to need it. But all AR’s are different

I have a Sythe Ti that I use on a couple AR15's. I use Area 419 Hellfire Universal Adapters on all my threaded barrel rifles and their and the appropriate Hellfire Suppressor Mounts on my suppressors. It makes swapping suppressors and/or muzzle brakes extremely easy. My LaRue OBR has an 18 inch barrel and it came with a two position gas block. Suppressed/Unsuppressed. It works in the unsuppressed position with the Sythe but its a heck of a lot more enjoyable and cleaner to shoot in the suppressed position. Especially with my hotter hand loads.

I have the asr mount on mine, brakes on every rifle about 5 total sure is nice swapping at will.
My ar is way over gassed or the can has excessive back pressure because I eat powder pretty bad when I shoot my ar.. which is not often.
