I’ve been a Timney guy for a while… bought a couple Rise Armament that I thought performed well too.
Hard to discern whether fanboys online are just shilling for them because they’re getting paid or if geissele is actually the best money can buy.
What say ye?
Ps, I’ve been eyeballing the Larue triggers too.

The single best trigger I own (AR's) is a Geissele. The other one I own is only fair. In my case it follows price. But mostly I am very happy with Larue triggers. Don't think they are absolutely the best but they are certainly very good triggers and the best for the money IME.
"Group think" is not thinking. It is the lack of independent thought. It is a cancer of the mind.

Very much a Yay... I have two SSA-Es and they are the heat. I think you'd be hard-pressed to do better.

Good stuff, buy with confidence.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

How much would you expect to pay a smith for install of a quality trigger on an AR?

50-100 bucks…the discrepancy between the prices is if the safety has to be removed, it’s more work.
Geissele makes a great trigger…they will get down to some silly lower pull weights.

The 2-stage Larue triggers are a great value, but I don't think they come close to the SSA-E. If you want 2-stage I think the SSA-E can hardly be beat---but I have not tried them all. It's certainly better than the Rock River 2-stage.
I decided to try the Trigger Tech "Duty" single-stage in both of my hog guns. Great trigger. I think it's better than the SSA-E for my purposes.

Most of our ARs have LaRue triggers, but one has a single stage Geissele. It has a sharp light pull, but I prefer the 2 Stage LaRue. That may be because I’m just more familiar with the LaRue, and I like a bit heavier pull on ARs.

I’d put it in the meh category. Not worth the $$ over a larue or cmc

Love geissele triggers. I wouldn't even try to compare them to CMC, but that's just me. They are also on sale all the time

For the price point, the LaRue Tactical trigger is the best one out there. Wilson Combat makes some very good triggers as well but they are pricey.

The LaRue is nice and crisp and affordable, I just wish it would drop the pull weight by a lb. That's where Geisseles gave a leg up in my mind.

I have a few, the SSA-E X (the lightning bow shoe) on my primary gun and it's great. SD3G is nice too, but a little light unless you are using it for competitions maybe. The 2-stage is more forgiving, and the 2nd stage is just as light once you take up the 1st, so I prefer it.
I also have a couple of Timneys as well, good triggers, but the finish on them isn't as nice. It's like sitting in a leather seat from say a Chevy and then going to sit in the leather from an AMG or other Euro car, they're both great, but one feels better. If you're on a budget, the LaRue MBT is probably the best trigger you're going to find. To some people, it is better than the Geissele, but I would say I prefer the trigger shoe on the G$.

Man, I like the RRA two-stage (but it could certainly be lighter). Apparently I really need to try some of these other options.

I obviously can’t relate. I think the CMC is a great trigger. Don’t see how you can get much better. I guess I’m not that picky with triggers.

I’m just not that discriminating when it comes to triggers other than I prefer single stage and 3-4 lbs pull.

Scott, does that CMC feel as good as a Timney bolt-action trigger?

Scott, does that CMC feel as good as a Timney bolt-action trigger? Honestly wouldn’t know. I just use stock triggers. Feels about as good as a stock Tikka trigger. The CMCs I have are single stage 3.5 lb triggers. They break crisp at that weight so no issues.
