Not all experience is good experience. Some guys had 40-50 starts in college, like Bennett, Bo Nix. Those additional starts didn’t really translate to additional success for Milroe, Ewers, Beck.

100%, With that said Ewers is not in a bad spot, sits 3rd in most of UT’s records and has 2 semi finals appearances. Will be interesting to see how he does in pro’s. I think we will do better than most think.

Manning has not proven he can physically rush the ball for a 100 yards, game in, game out, for 12 plus games. Vince young did. Very few QB’s have stayed healthy long enough to do it. Why it’s such a rare stat.

The 8 wins is not a very bold prediction. You need to add the Aggie's opponent in the Pop Tart Bowl to be legit.

Statistically, combined yardage passing/rushing and TDs, first is Colt, then Ehlinger, then Applewhite and Young. Colt and Ehlinger had the benefit of 4 years starting at QB vs 3 for the other guys so not exactly apples to apples comparisons.

Having said that, IMO you are giving Vince Young way to much credit for he was dumber than a box of rocks, great college football player that did not translate into success in the NFL

I doubt seriously that a guy that scored a 6 out of 50 on the NFL Wonderlic test had the mental acuity to come up with his own selfish personal game plan just to improve his draft scenario, then present it to coach Mack Brown for his approval and Mack say, okay Vince whatever you want, the hell with the rest of the team!

That's great stuff regarding his intellect and pro career, but we were talking specifically about his collegiate numbers, the Nat'l Champ he won, etc. Very few had the talent he had at UT, or anywhere else for that matter.

We can’t compare NFL because manning hasn’t even played a top 40 College team yet.

With that said I never said he was smart that was his down fall in NFL. But he put TX in the NC that year, they keep him in pocket the first half and then turned him loose… was it by design to wait until it was too late to make adjustments or part of him displaying more pocket patience for the draft. Probably both but with out a doubt that second half especially 4th, he straight up beat USC with his feet. He passed first half, second half if it wasn’t there he took off. Completely different script than all the games leading up to NC. I just don’t think USC had a chance that year.

Go back and watch the game, you will see what I’m talking about.

But no, I’m not talking about his intelligence, I don’t think 5 VY’s has the same intelligence level as Ewers or Manning.

I hope Manning wins a NC before he lives UT, but as of today he has done nothing special. Is he quick for a QB yes but there is no evidence he physically can hold up to running like Cam or VY did. Very few passing college QB’s have.

My only question/statement was why did USC not use #5 Reggie Bush more on their last drive, it was actually USC second to last drive. For some reason BoBo brought Vince Young into the conversation?

Bush was having a great game, if they had him in there on that second to last drive with Lyndale White I think they would have gotten another first down, run out the clock and won the game.
