Yelp Nosler needs to come out with 105-108 BT version in 6mm

I've killed a lot of deer with my Remington 700 VS using a 100 grain Nosler Partition.

I was just reading the thread for fun and now I'm inspired. I might try for a 95gr Nosler BT 243 load. I really like the result so far for a 150gr BT in a 308. Thanks for the read, Dean.

I vote for the 95 gr Nosler BT. I’ve killed a bunch of deer with the 100 gr BT in my 260. Killed em just as effectively as the 120 gr BT. They work so well I’m going to the bullet in my 6.5 Grendel.

The Speer 100 grain BTSP has done well for me but so far all hits are center chest or neck. Plenty of bullets would do well with hits like that. Same for the 85 grain version.

100gr Partitions here. I don't think we've had a deer take a step, but we shoot high shoulder.

We would be my wife and I. She killed her first deer with the 100gr Partitions out of a .243! My son still gets too excited for me to try and teach him the high shoulder. We still aim MOD (Minute of Deer) behind the shoulder.

Hi shoulder is great but not quite as much room for error.

I always tell my wife and kids straight up the front leg middle of the body. Large margin for error and broken legs don’t run good.

I never loaded gamekings but prohunters over IMR 4350 was my go to for several years. Closer I got to max the better it shot.

I never loaded gamekings but prohunters over IMR 4350 was my go to for several years. Closer I got to max the better it shot. If a rifle won't shoot a Game King fairly tight, there's something wrong with that rifle. If the Game King didn't perform well on animals, the person shooting messed up the shot. Old school Game Kings, I've made shoot pretty dang tight, and they are very reliable in terminal performance. The new Tipped Game Kings have proven to shoot even tighter due to their tip. And all the feedback I'm getting is 100% positive. That they are just as reliable as their predecessor, in terminal performance. Shoots tight. Works very well when it enters the vitals on an animal. The only one thing to bash Sierra on is availability. They have not kept up with the demand in the hand loading market.

2 mature bucks down this year so far. These boys been using it for the past 5 years. 100 grain partitions, nothing but flawless. Nice bucks and very tasteful, respectful pics of the animals. Thank You for that.

Last few deer I’ve shot with my 243 have been 105 Hornady A-Max’s. It’s a Savage Model 10 Predator with normal 1:9 twist. 5-6 deer
Before that it was Winchester Deer Season XP 95 Gr. 3-4 deer.
I mostly hunt with a 6.5 Grendel or 308, reason for low deer kill count.

100 grain partition over 40 grains of IMR 4350 collected another this weekend. 173 lb 8 pt. Body shot, complete penetration even through a shoulder and a short run.

Short range the 80gr TTSX has great results I have shot and witnessed shot dozens of deer with various soft points out of a .243. This year I changed to this bullet loaded directly by Barnes. This bullet completely changes the .243. Daughter shot a good size buck from 250 yards and son shot a doe from 150. They lived a combined 3 seconds and made it about 20 total yards. The blood trails looked like paint and when we skinned them I would have never guessed that a .243 was used. I’ll never use anything else and would have zero hesitation stretching it out much further than 250. Great bullet.

My own experience with the 80-grain TTSX is about as limited as it can get but yet exist...just before I decided my 6-284 was to be one of many rifles sold, I tried this bullet. I loaded six different charges of IMR7828 and five different charges of H1000, three rounds of each. I shot them at 200 yards. All of the loads were acceptable for hunting but the three top H1000 loads all showed me half MOA performance. Muzzle velocities were north of 3500 fps.
If I was going to continue using any rifle in a 6mm cartridge, the 80-grain TTSX would be the bullet I'd try first. Accuracy like that just can't be ignored, and its reputation for killing quickly ain't half bad.
edit: I realize the BC isn't there but when your typical range is less than 200 yards and your longest shot is likely to be no more than maybe 350, BC just is not a part of the question.

To quote Roy Weatherby "speed kills"
Mostly used 90gr Swift Sirocco or 85gr partition in the 243. Neither ever let me down

I’m a big fan of the 90gn Sierra tipped gamekings, great bc and cheaper than some of the other vld/eld bullets
