Having lost close friends to suicide, I can tell you that most of the time it's something they never disclosed to anyone.

The counselor I saw in the past told me that they survey survivors of these attempts while in therapy and that, on average, the window of time from when they decided to do something like this to when they actually carried out the act was only 5 minutes or so. There is very little that can be done to save someone once they have fully committed to doing something like this.

If you have never been close to doing it yourself, you have an even harder time trying to understand and process it, which is probably a good thing, honestly.

Apparently, he and his wife were staunch anti-trumpers and bernie supporters. I suspect this vegas attack was politically motivated and not religiously motivated. Politics lately does weird things to people. I guess its always done weird things to people tho...

It’s not a rental company. It’s an app that allows private people to ‘rent’ your vehicle to someone else, like AirBNB with vacation houses. It would be similar to saying they used Uber to drop them off at the scene. They didn’t rent a cat from Hertz or anything.




As was mentioned above, the Cybertruck is made of steel, so it helped contain/direct the blast. The windows are also able to wishtand more extreme forces than a normal car window (not that it would withstand an explosion, but might’ve helped a little more, especially if the blast was directed vertically).

And now reports are saying the guy died from a self inflicted gunshot before the explosion took place. Pistol at his feet in the car. So whether he did that just prior to the explosion or the car self-drove after the gunshot was done off premises, hard to know.

I hope he wasn’t forced by leverage. Lots of unanswered questions that we will never get answers too

Looks like a dead loser that thought offn'g himself with limited explosive materials in front of an uncrowded hotel was better than living; personally I choose living over killing myself...As the sheriff and FBI said today, much more amateurish than they would have expected given his military training. Guess, everyone that could have been hurt was fortunate for that.

I’ve gotten a ride in one (years ago) and it was pretty cool but I’ll never own one. That was in a sedan. The cyber truck is ugly as hell and useless. I’ll never own one of those.

While I'm not sure of all his motivations, we can safely say one was suicide... and that he has terrible taste in weapons.

That image looks like he is on the heavy side (double chin anyone?) for Special Forces compared to what i have in my mind for someone who is actually "fit and active." Maybe not relevant but just looks like a standard middle age out of shape "Joe." Hell i am 60 and don't have that much of double chin.

His wife left him the day after Christmas.

Couple points for consideration... 1.) I believe that's some kind of ID card pic (not his current CAC, in which he looks much thinner), or maybe ISOPREP, which are notorious for being garbage pictures taken with garbage cameras, normally by an E4 or a GS-7. Heck, I look like I weigh 300 lbs in my most recent TX DL pic. I weigh 180. 2.) He's an Master Sergeant/E8, with apparently 19 years of service. It's a good bet his body isn't in the same shape it was 19 years ago. By that time in service a lot of guys have seriously broken bodies and drink a lot to cope with the constant pain.
