My son took his first deer there, I have used this place for years with a lot of satisfaction. They 100% ground up his deer into burger meat after clear written instructions were provided to make 10 pounds of summer sausage, 6 pounds of hot links and 6 pounds of breakfast sausage, and steak out the rest.

The manager defended the fact they ground the deer up and couldn’t seem to wrap his head around why I had an issue with this. After a long discussion with him he said he wasn’t sure how he could make it right, but would do something. They called my son today to pick up his order they charged him $550 and it’s 90% summer sausage.

Never will I spend a single dime at that facility again.

What a disappointment, hopefully those of you who use them have better luck.

Had to use them in 2022 for my buffalo hunt in NM.

First off, owner told me it would be about $75 to ship it from their facility to my home. I ship stuff all the time and couldn't see how this would be possible. Well, it was not $75, it was $550.

Told me it would be delivered on Wednesday. Tuesday I happen to come home early and my boxes are out front thawing out. Three boxes of meat from a 700 lb buffalo carcass.

Everyone else in my party got back 4 or 5 boxes. Called them up and they were offended that i suggested an error had been made. Few days later they called me back and said that a box was missed and would be headed my way on wednesday.

Tuesday afternoon another box shows up......full of elk salami and summer sausage.

Place is a joke.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I use JT`s in Stephenville and never been unhappy. Always get back plenty of meat at a reasonable price.

I took my buck there last year only as a drop off point for my taxidermist. I donated the meat to Hunters for the Hungry for a nominal fee. I saw their prices on a cut sheet. I couldn't believe how expensive they were.

I really appreciate Whitakers, Iowa Park, Texas. It's convenient for me on the way home from the panhandle and I use them all the time. They are CLEAN, efficient, don't mix your deer, breakfast sausage is the best I've ever had. Prices are reasonable and out right cheap compared to what I saw at Cinnamon Creek.

Good to know. Used to make great duck tamales and they quit that so I will not be taking anything there.

They turn out a great product but their prices are insane.

Oh the are cheap compared to my favorite sausage maker. I had 600 WT bill last year in Miles but damn it’s best sausage and jerky.

I’ve never had an issue with CR. They aren’t expensive though for just butcher cuts. Sausage is expensive everywhere

OP, I normally get atleast 1 deer turned in to meat balls and one in brawts min since they opened. Also normally an elk, which I normally do blackstrap whole, 40lbs of fajita and rest bacon mix hamburger, pro-tip bring in Dbone and you save $50 on processing vs qtr’d price

Considering your recent actions, I thought this place was close to your home.

Not what it used to be and I remember when original brothers first came to TX well before CR. I pretty much just process my own backstraps each cut in half and grind everything else for use in anything calling for meat.

Every time I find a good processor, they always go downhill after a couple years. I guess they get overwhelmed with work once they gain a good reputation.

I haven’t had any problems with them, they have done what i have asked when i ask.

Having said that, they don’t do much for me anymore as i decided to do all my own processing.
Only thing i would have them make is sausage. But might need to rethink that as there might be better places

I have dropped bucks there for HFH and taxidermy drop off. If i have the time i cape out and take to Ericks myself. But if there is little time, being able to drop off a field dressed deer for caping and having them send it off to taxi is convenient.

I thought Whittaker’s had closed. Did the stay open, or did they sell the business?

It split. Syracuse Sausage and Cinnamon Creek. Syracuse use to do game and commercial, now Syracuse just does commercial, and Cinnamon creek does game processing

Most if the time when I have a deer processed it is usually just breakfast sausage, hamburger meat, maybe a little summer sausage.

It has been a very long time since I last used them and it was kind of a whoa moment for me.

Took a big doe in there that I had skinned, quartered and taken the back straps and tenderloins off.
Well I went all out for me and had a bunch of different kinds of sausages made. The gal said she needed a $100 deposit and I would pay the balance when it was ready.

When I picked it up the same gal said it will be $340.00. Me with the deer in the headlights look asked, is that the total or the balance due now?
She said another $340.00. As you well know that was a total of $440 large bucks for me eeks333

It was all very good except the Boudin which was just okay.
