I’m wanting to get back into pistol hunting, I normally use a 460XVR but it can’t be suppressed, so I’m looking for another pistol that can. The easy an obvious choice is the T/C pistols, and there’s a wide variety of caliber options. I really something sub 10 inch barrel that’s good pit to 200 yards on pigs and deer.
I could just get one barreled in 460XVR, as I already have a load developed for in out of an 8 3/4 barrel and a suppressor to go with it, but not sure it’s a competent 200 yard gun. I’ve shot it to 150 but farthest I’ve killed anything is around 120.
Maybe a 7-08 or 308 or???

7-08 with a faster than typical powder burn rate, and a 140 gr bullet.

Weishun said the 30-06 was his favorite in the encore pistols

You will have to use the Encore frame for the calibers you are mentioning. The Contender will not handle the pressures of the 460 either. I have Encore barrels in 204, 243, 7mm-08, 308, 30-06 and 454 Casull. If you find a frame and need a barrel, let me know as I might sell one of mine.

If you’re talking about a contender I've had really good luck with both the 6mm tcu aka 6x45, as well as the 7 tcu. They used to be my go to for dropping a couple doe every year.

I used to have on in 35 Remington. If I remember correctly it was listed as good to around 150 yards. What ever you get, good luck and enjoy.

300 Blk on Contender frame. Supers will get you to 200 yards. Subs will as well once you figure the drop for your load.

I just bought a cva scout in 6.5 grendel a few months ago. The gun is accurate and has a threaded barrel. I did put a weaver handgun scope and has held up so far. You could rig up a couple of those for the price of 1 contender.

That round works well in the Contender at least has for me out to 220 yards. 120gr Ballistic tip for most of thar. Other rounds I have used on deer in the Contender, 7TCU, 30 Herret, 357 Max, 44 Mag, 45 Colt and 45-70
