Every illegal in our country who murders or rapes should be publicly executed. The hell with deportation and FJB. And thrown out in the pasture for the buzzards to clean up. I wouldn't waste a drop of diesel, digging them a hole. I’ll lend some diesel to provide an eye for an eye punishment.

“Nobody came to her aid,” said Guardian Angels founder and community activist Curtis Sliwa. “There’s no doubt that people don’t want to get involved. It’s the Daniel Penny factor. It’s frozen people. They’re saying to themselves: ‘I don’t want to get jammed up like Penny. “People should have been running over to the woman on fire. They did nothing. They said nothing,” Sliwa said, calling the reluctance of bystanders to intervene “the Daniel Penny effect.” https://nypost.com/2024/12/23/us-ne...death-on-nyc-subway-daniel-penny-effect/

There could be a dozen reasons. Maybe she was already dead, maybe he don’t care, maybe he didn’t know what to do. Maybe he was meant to be a barista at Starbucks.
America needs to get used to reality. There is no longer a competitive process to be a cop. Very few want the job. I’ve seen guys quit halfway through their shift and walk away.

It's one thing to not tackle or otherwise subdue the perp, but that doesn't explain not coming to the victim's aid. Today in our society, a lot of folks have become indifferent to violence or other peoples' suffering and would rather pull out their phone and video the scene than to get off their azzes and make a difference in someone's life. It has been happening for years and has nothing to do with Penny. People like that suck, and in my book, are in the same category as the perp.

I'm not a firefighter but maybe the ones on here can say if bare hands would help in this situation. I wouldn't think wrapping his 100% polyester jacket around her would be the best plan. I know the car fires I've been around were too hot to get real close to without bunker gear. I really don't know what the best thing to do would be except try to find a fire extinguisher. Maybe JG can advise if the officer screwed up or not.
