Big, old & nasty. I'd do a euro mount on that giant.

lol the “creative” camera work is below:

1) make sure you have a clean foreground
2) position the animal so it is not laying on its side but on its belly
3) always take the photo at the animals eye level, not the persons

These will help frame your animal better and make it the subject, not the person. With pigs specifically, what I have noticed makes them look bigger or smaller than they really are is the length of the grass in the foreground closest to the camera. This pig was on grass that was only 2in tall. However if the photo had been taken in the taller bunch grass in the background this pig might have only looked 100lbs.

Great advice on the pic taking. Pretty much same thing on deer. The point about making the animal the focal point and not the hunter is key.

I think it's a good pic, I don't think they had any intention about making it 'fake'. Now, if the headline was 'my bro got a 400# hog!' then all bets are off!

It looks like a good one to me. Amother trick of making the animal look bigger is kneeling a bit or a bunch behind the critter. I'm not sayin that is the case with this one but kinda looks like it to me. Either way a good sized hog.

none taken! just wanted to say what the tips are to make the point it isn't hard and you don't have to be "straight arming" pigs to make a pic look really good. You see too many great animals with only ok photos

Im with you on poor pics of great animals. I love to see what an animal really has and some pics just dont even come close.

200#+ is not a small hog in my opinion. I've shot my share of hogs and not that many are well over two hundred pounds. That's a nice hog, good picture, and you friend looks to be proud. I would be.

Agree - unless your in an Ag region, there are not that many walking around. If I remember right, we've only killed 8-10 that were over 200lbs in nearly 20 years on the ranch. One of those came in a 304 and that was truly an eye opener and likely once in a lifetime pig for us. A lot of folks 200 pounders are really walking around at 125-150

True words. I target lone boars and have killed and posted some really big ones. A lot 300 Lb hogs are like the 10lb bass that only weighed 7 when put on a scale. They continue to mature and grow in the shoulders and head and really look like they weigh way over 200. To put on the weight to get 300 lbs.............. that's a chore. I really notice how our hogs drop weight in the winter. Food gets scarce and the amount of ground they have to cover just find enough food to survive really burns calories.

Great looking beast for the hunter, every right to be proud.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
