Feel for her medical condition. But, one has to ask, what does it take to get someone out of congress? Somebody knew where she was.

Think this is a rabbit hole out of "Alice's" world. Regarding Granger: Retirement On October 30, 2023, Granger confirmed that she would not run for re-election in 2024.[18] On March 22, 2024, she announced that she would be stepping down as chair of the House Appropriations Committee as soon as the Republican Steering Committee chose her replacement,[19] which took place on April 10.[20] Her last recorded vote was on July 24, 2024.[21] She participated in a ceremony celebrating her work on Appropriations in mid-November 2024.[22]Recorded vote 5 months ago - so if true she did this from her dementia bed. Link to her participation at a ceremony last month (must have got a pass to leave her facility and used a secret identity as no one has seen her in 6 months - LOL): https://appropriations.house.gov/news/blogs/members-celebrate-texas-tough-kay-granger

This is one of our leaders...doesn't give me much faith in the US Political system, these folks all need dementia testing when elected or re-elected.

I only see this story in some like really unknown news sources, the facility she is supposedly living in shows to be high class for $4000.00 a month, I can tell you for fact that 4000 a month won't get you high class care in a really nice facility, at least not in my recent experience.

The problem is she should have resigned. None of them do the right thing. She’s collecting a salary, staff salary and not representing anyone. Should have resigned over a year ago, forced a special election.

Should have resigned over a year ago, forced a special election. While that may be true she is certainly not living in a demented state confined to a home and missing as reported. That is as big or a bigger problem when media (left or right) can quickly and easily delude a bunch of people. The left and the right are both guilty of this to the point where i don't believe any news report regardless of the source. Trump, Vance, Biden, Harris etc.. - The reports are all full of #$%@. And regards to the right thing - She actually did basically resign. She announced in 2023 she was not running for re-election and directed the GOP to select a replacement. Take it for what it's worth coming from a 3rd party observer who has no horse in your left vs right race.

She said this December 18, 2024 at a retirement ceremony. Who knows what is true though these days with the internet information. Maybe this never happened. More likely a smear campaign from the left because their guy lost. House Appropriations Chairwoman Emeritus Kay Granger (R-TX) said, "It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve in the House of Representatives, particularly as a Member of the House Appropriations Committee. "As I reflect on my time in Congress, I am deeply humbled by the faith placed in me by the people of Texas 12 to represent them in Washington and by my colleagues in the House to lead the Committee as Chairwoman. "Above all, I am proud of what we accomplished together. Our military is stronger, our allies are supported, and fiscal responsibility is at the forefront of the national debate – none of which would have been possible without the relentless dedication and skill of this Committee, its Members, and its staff. As my time in Congress comes to an end, I feel fulfilled and depart with optimism that this chamber will continue to serve the best interests of the American people." https://kaygranger.house.gov/2024/12/members-celebrate-texas-tough-kay-granger

I think the internet (left or right who knows) decided to attack and attempt to discredit someone who actually served honorably. Again coming from a 3rd party observer with no horse in the race - you know it's the weekend so i have a little more time to go down rabbit holes and American politics provides an absolute warren of holes to chase.

The problem is she should have resigned. None of them do the right thing. She’s collecting a salary, staff salary and not representing anyone. Should have resigned over a year ago, forced a special election. Correct. She “retired,” meaning she didn’t seek re-election, but she should have resigned. That’s the issue. Everyone knew she wasn’t on the ballot. The issue is that she didn’t step down and mostly, apparently, hasn’t been showing up for votes and, according to one publication (Dallas Express, which I’d never heard of until this week), her offices are closed and staff dissolved.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

The Dallas Express. Do your own research on that one. Who knows what’s true. She was at a large event covered by numerous media outlets on December 18, gave a speech that read well at least and somehow fooled everyone if she’s so addle minded she has to be in a nursing home.

We moved Mom to a Romanian family run home setting. Much better care and saved a boat load of money.

I was just saying that the facility price in the article I saw, along with no mainstream news reporting I could find, made me suspicious of the story. Please carry on...

Everybody wants term limits
for the other guy. Only thing bad about term limits is not having the knowledgeable folks in place that know all the rules (tricks). How’s that working out, right now? As sorry as Mitch is, he still stopped the Dems many many times over the years from doing even worse damage…all because he had been there long enough to know how to do it. Not a perfect system in any way, but they’ll never vote in term limits.
