Direct or rail?

These three have never let me down and are specifically built to fix where others fail. Case in point all three have 65lb torque spec for base.

For a rail-
Lightest and best value for money: 2 hole NF UL
Most bomb proof and still light: Unknown Munitions
The easiest install and bomb proof but heavy: ARC brace

Bottom line, never trust a man whose uncle was eaten by cannibals.-Sen Joni Ernst

3 years ago I was driving a brand new Ram 2500 coming home from hunting when I was hit broadside from a white thrash scumbag with no insurance.

The X Bolt behind me took the direct hit, it flipped over and when the truck stopped spinning landed barrel up on the passenger side.

It held its zero and from that day forward I’m a Talley fan…

They’re out dated, not cool, whatever…

That wreck totaled truck…

I’ve used Talley, weaver, warne, and Burris. All installed with torque driver and no issues with any.

RC, same here.

I don’t have a favorite and I have some that are truly ancient.

I like all the Hawkins rings and have all 3 styles. The lighter weight ones are on one of my main hunting rifles.

Of the ones I own the Area 419 rings seem to be manufactured on a higher level than anything else.

I’ve also never had trouble with my NF, or ZCO rings.

I really like Talley, and have never had an issue, but the LW have a reputation for breaking.

What mount are you leaning towards? Look at Warne for rings and mount.

Last couple sets of rings I've bought have been Talley Tactical and Warne MountainTech. Both have been solid.

No!!!!!!! Reason that piece is titanium on NF and UM

OP if you are looking for direct I’d go Hawkins.

If any body needs remmy mounts, I have two sets of IOTA direct Remington 30mm mounts I’d sale for $40 OBO a piece, never mounted, and never used IOTA as I switched to rail, so no experience with them

If you're mounting a Leupold scope, I'd go with the two piece Leupold mounts. They have a really cool windage adjustment that NO other manufacturer has. I hear they're awesome mounts!

Careful torqing the windage nuts on those. I've seen two sets crack at the 90° corner. Talley made it right and shipped out new rings at no cost.

Night Force calls for 65 in/lbs on their windage nuts. The same torque as action screws. That's stout!
