How do you refer to your hunting blind? Do you have a name for it Or, is it simply by it's location?
You don't know what you don't know.........until you know.

Hunted for years on a ranch with named blinds, so when I bought my own place, I carried on the tradition. Examples - High School, Spaceship, Water Can, etc.

Oat Patch Cedar Tree (only one on the place big enough for a seat blind in 1978) Elm Tree-Brush Patch (tree type, location) The Outhouse (box blind, had a wooden chair with a circle hole cut in it) Mimi's Blind (she suggested putting a blind in that spot) Frankie's Blind (he was the first person to hunt this new box blind) The Grave (have a grave from the late 1800s on our place) The Tollbooth (Slanted roof box blind, metal, looked just like a little tollbooth. Also sat at the junction of two roads)

Names. I've always had names. Even when blinds were provided and numbered. #18 I named "Barely Legal". My pastor came and hunted out of it. That was awkward. #21 I named "Blackjack." The other lease members seemed to enjoy them.

We have a blind in the back we call 5 Star, since it generally has a lot of good animals, and sat in the middle of 5 shooting directions. We used to have a feeder at 782 yards we called Sniper Point. The shooting location was on top of a crown on a big hill, that over looked a valley down below. The feeder was eye level across the valley at 782 yards away going gently up the side of a hill. We killed a few pigs and deer there over the years. I need to get that feeder back up and running again!! Everything else on our place is named after the person who's blind it is, "Danny's bow blind in the back", etc (boring)

My main blind is used as much for thermal whacking as daylight hunting. I have a resident pair of Owl's that I hear every time I'm in it. Thinking on naming it Night Owl.
I like to ask as other folks can get quite creative with it.

I usually name them, though some are by location.
Have Mom’s blind, fenceline, the field, Dudley’s ( have no idea who Dudley is/was but his name is on the blind) and the ridge.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

There's a spot that I have with a very pretty view. I'm considering adding a blind there, after I get the pushed brush piles burned. I'd call it "Comancheria."

We name the hunting areas, as each one can have multiple blinds/stand locations.
Swamp- 1 blind 1 tripod stand (there is technically an old ladder there we don't use do to comfort, but it could be used, prob need to put a stand down there somewhere) Deer haven- 1 blind, but thinking of adding some other stand locations here Pasture - 2 stands 1 ground blind Small pond- 1 stand Horseshoe- 1 tripod stand and one blind
Most of these are set up for bow hunting. Only blind set up ideally for rifle is horseshoe blind, but that I rarely used.
I like this topic, enjoy seeing the names people come up with or inherit

Oso Seco The Bluff Boot Heel Esau's Hide The Swamp El Centro Grayson's Rock
At the old Sisterdale lease, many years ago, we had... Buzzard, Elm Bottom, Ghost Canyon (Hondo Crouch named the canyon), Nolan's, Spider, Outback, Thunder Mountain (it's on maps as "Dunner" mountain), and a few more I'm forgetting. 3200 acres of ruggedness that few could imagine is that close to Boerne/Fbg. It's all subdivided into (large) homesites now.

When we start hunting on new places we use numbers. As the blinds earn their names the numbers get replaced with the names. Our names come from location or memorable experience at said blind.

When I was a kid, our blinds were just a few boards for a platform up in a tree. No box blinds, towers or feeders. Names were: Buzzard roost Big Cedar Little Cedar Lower Pasture (mot) Big Oak Little Oak
The ranch I hunt now has box blinds that sit up to 3. Each has a corn & protein feeder: Pigskin Tank Blind Hilltop Westgate Hidden Deer Valley 50-50
