Well sorta, but in a truck. My half ton has close to a quarter million miles and I couldn’t stomach close to 6 figures on a new truck. Been wanting to move back to a 3/4 since the day I stepped into my half ton. Been looking for a while. A mechanic I trust told me to find a 2017-2019 6.7L with less than 80K miles, and he could make it last 300-400K miles with simple maintenance. Finally found the truck, but it had the dreaded oil pan leak when I found it. Dealership actually agreed with me on the leak and sold it to me wholesale which was best case for me. To fix the leak right the engine has to come out of the truck and saved me money on doing the other stuff we needed to do for it to last the amount of miles I want to run it. Super happy with it so far. Only regret is I didn’t do it sooner!!

I had my upper oil pan leak repaired on my ‘19F350 under warranty. Tranny was removed, not the cab or engine.

As vehicles get more and more complicated, last fewer and fewer miles, and cost six figures, more people will be doing things like this. I have a 2014 Tacoma and I’ll try to keep it forever.

I’ve made that mistake before, buying a 1/2 ton, made the mistake of buying a Ford again too

Let's see. Chevy 1500 in high school and college that went 180K before I sold it, F250 with 7.3L diesel over 100K, next F250 with 7.3L went 360K, another chevy 1500 over 100K, current F150 245K.

Seems like it might be the Indian and not the arrow with the vehicle problems you have. Know what they say about an ounce of preventative maintenance right? roflmao

Almost went 6.0 with the dealer proofing from Bill in GA before he passed away. He guaranteed 500K on the engine once he proofed it, but I knew if I went back to a truck with non-AC seats I'd HATE it. bang

I have a 6 month old F250 with 17,000 miles, as of today, my doors no longer lock, CarPlay doesn’t work, and passenger side mirror may or may not fold out. My 2014 Ram with 238k miles sure didn’t have any electrical problems or rattles, and it’s still going strong down in south Texas.

That was with 4 large adults and work out shocks. Front tires were literally smashing into the fenders. I’ve sense had the shocks rebuilt with new springs and valving. The motor is also tuned and rev limiter pushed to 105mph.

Anytime you want a ride I’m game.

What other work was done to the truck? Getting any emission work done?

We were about 8 feet high a few months ago. It’s going to southern Arizona for some fast paced desert riding in 2025.
