^^^ Certainly looks like it. Heck of a buck regardless. Yes, that was him. He was released on the ranch out of the ranches own pens as a yearling. Then allowed to mature and breed the last 4 years. Praying we get a ton more babies down the road that look like him for sure. That's interesting. How old was he in the pic with the other bucks in the pen, and how old when killed?

I’m guessing 5 and 5.5 since the thread you posted with him in velvet was from August.

@ Scott, he's still in a pen in the ear tag photo. He was released four years, then killed it seems. I can't get it to add up.

i hope this happens. From the look of the one to the left of him in top photo it looks like they have achieved more like him minus the double drops.

I don't understand why some feel it's alright to belittle others accomplishments...I was raised better than that.
Congrats huntingguide, that's a beautiful deer.

lol, pic with a net fence means he was in pen and not in a velvet bachelor group at a feed station or water next to a fence……
Unbelievable the amount people who are here to solely troll and do everything they can to cheapen others is sad.

I had a great buck on camera in August. I posted a pic of him. Only one pic, and never seen live. He was killed on our ranch by another hunter about 3-4 miles away. In velvet, pretty massive rack. The kill photo in November, no development from when he was in velvet and will prolly score 165". The ear tag photo compared to the kill photo, he actually looked older and with more mass than in the velvet photo. My question was relevant to me in terms of how a pen raised deer developed more mass than that of a free range deer since the timing was identical. Ya'll should get over yourselves and find a greater purpose in life than trying to be guardians of this small-time forum.

Unbelievable the amount people who are here to solely troll and do everything they can to cheapen others, sad. Who did that? You. So, according to you, a question regarding age/rack development is trolling and cheapened the deer. OK.

Consult a biologist Funny me - I saw the same deer in each of the photos. As many realize, deer will gain lots of weight after August building up for the rut. I could care less about the circumstances as someone is doing something right. Absolute bomber stud of a deer. That deer is something many try to achieve with few ever getting "there". Many kudos to that ranch and what they are successfully accomplishing.
