I wouldn't hate this.... Just my 2 cents but I think you would unless you are a SMU fan. This is the best team SMU has had since Eric Dickerson was their RB. On a side note. Everyone better hope Alabama doesn’t get in. They beat Georgia that beat Texas twice including once at home. Alabama was getting better and more dominant every game. If strength of schedule is figured in at all Alabama will be in. P. S. I am as far from an Alabama fan as I am a Texas or Georgia fan … Big Hutch

My opinion.
Texas with Arch at QB would have won by 3 touchdowns.
Just my 2 cents. Big Hutch
I dont think Arch is ready I think they would of lost by 3 touchdowns if he was the QB

I think Arch should of been given an opportunity in the red zone, his legs could of stressed the defense.

Looking at bracket. Texas has a fairly easy path to semifinals. 1 semi is in Dallas.
Georgia has very easy path.
Could it be Georgia v Texas in Atlanta again????

I do applaud SMU, left AAC for ACC for no payout. Played well and made the playoff.
SMU should have been allowed in Big12 years ago.

I know nothing about bowl affiliation, other than the big 12 And the Alamo bowl, for obvious reasons...... Do you know what bowl Texas is in line for?

Texas hosts Clemson. If Texas wins, they play Arizona state in Atlanta. Peach bowl.
Clemson is a good matchup, they look poor.

Pretty happy with the selection committee on this one. Saban was bummed out. Too bad, win games and leave no doubt.

Clemson is a good matchup, they look poor. I don't think you'll hear Penn state complaining

Not terribly interested in first round. Other than Tenn at Ohio State. Potential for a really good game.
Texas will destroy Clemson, they are not good. If they were any good the SMU game would have been 35-7 at half.
SMU v Pedo State is 11am game. Don’t really get into those.
Would have rather seen ASU play in Fiesta Bowl.

UT should beat Clemson by at least 3 touchdowns IF Texas plays Arch instead of Ewers. Ewers is a one dimensional quarterback that is only able to produce against subpar defenses. He may look good against a poor Clemson defense. Idk but why gamble.
Think about it. Georgia is the only really good defense Texas has faced all year. In the two losses to Georgia what has Ewers done besides throw interceptions? What was his total production? Answer it was terrible.
Do you think Arch would have done worse? Texas lost both games. They lost the second game against a backup quarterback that was no threat to pass downfield. That is as bad as it gets. If you don’t think Arch is ready you don’t know college football offense in 2024. Arch is a true dual threat RPO quarterback and a proven winner. He would elevate the Texas offense to another level.
Good luck to Texas. I am SEC or bust.
Just my 2 cents. Big Hutch

Alamo Bowl had Colorado v BYU. That’s odd. Same conference.

Ewers didn’t drop those passes nor did he miss those 2 field goals. He’s gotten them to where they are today. Manning has to wait his time.
