I duck hunted many years ago with my pawpaw in the early 70's

We did it way different than people usually do
There were several stock tanks near his house,
and we'd walk slowly up on them and he would
be on one corner and I'd be on the other.
If there was ducks swimming around close by
we'd open up on them. He had a fishing rod
and a plug that he'd cast out to retrieve the ducks.
Probably an Arbogaster. That was his favorite.
I don't think I was even a teenager yet

Can you drink a coffee while doing it? Not a sport.

Now, maybe if it was like a diving thing where you sneak up from below and grab them by feet without getting busted by the flock... That would be a sport.

Does pond jumping mallards count? What about water swatting coots?

I’m proud to say I’ve never fired a shot upon a coot.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
