Come back to him about 10 minutes later and asked what is a little wait, he said minimum 45 minutes, I nicely remind him of our phone conversation on ease of walking on, he apologized and said with the booked tee times and walk on's that showed up it pushed it out, me okay give me a rain check and I leave. Man there was a bunch of really old frail looking golfers out there, including old women. bet that course played way slow.

So I called Tenison Park and they did the Bob Barker The Price is Right "Come on down" laugh Joe Campisi was in the group right behind us.
Dag nabbit I lost my A gap wedge around the 4th or 5th hole, asked Campisi group if they picked it up no, asked three groups behind them and Nope.

Betting somebody behind us picked it and stuck it in their bag, it happens bang Yes it is my bad for leaving it in the first place hammer

Bought a swing trainer, did not help nuts

Had you hit it on holes 1-4, if not maybe you left on driving range at either Tennison or even Sherrill Park, that happens too. Forgetting it on range.

So I will pick it up in the morning and play another 18 while I am there.

Played a charity scramble on the Forest Course at the Eagles Golf Club in Odessa, Florida on Friday. Pretty challenging course with narrow fairways lots of sand, water, and damage from Hurricane Milton. Of course... here, the water hazards possess their own hazards... eeks333

Driving out of the club after the game I passed some water with a huge 10 or 11 footer sunning himself on the bank. No pic, though.

kry226 how did you and your team play?

We had our 50th high school reunion golf tournament at Buffalo Creek in Heath/Rockwall two weekends ago, it is a nice course and everyone had fun.
Our team came in last place, our supposed ace player only contributed a couple of shots, one other guy contributed one shot, I was the second best player on the team so you know we were in trouble laugh
We finished last at 4 over, winning team was -8 under but we had a lot of fun.

There were a lot of Trump/Vance signs and banners all around that area flag

Had a rain check to play at Sherril Park from about 3 weeks ago because it was taking way to long to tee off.
So I called them around 7:15 and asked if I got there by 7:45 when is the soonest a single could walk on? Guy says should be no problem getting you off at 8:40.

Teed of at 9:12 no biggy except it was so slow play we finished the front 9 at 11:40, right at 2 1/2 hours. bang
Back 9 is a little more challenging so I told the group of guys I was with, thanks for putting up with me but I am out of here, so I took it to the house. Dang shame such a pretty morning.

We played pretty well, but had one guy in our foursome that wasn't too savvy with a club. With best ball, I think we had three birdies and par'd the rest. Played with a couple ringers who carried us a good bit, but we were really just trying to have some fun. Lots of wildlife on the course between the does and fawns we chased on our way to our first hole, to the group of four eastern hens that just happened to be where one of my shots landed (cough), plus the gators, it was an interesting day.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.... she shot 4 over in the front with a 9 over in the back. She hit every fairway in the front. For some reason she is very good with her driver, she hits it around 225. I asked her what club did she use for her second shot most often, she said her wedges..... must be nice. She had 31 putts!

She just completed 3 years of golfing, one year on the range, and two years on courses. Not too shabby.

Played Blackjack's Crossing in Lajitas, TX today. Scenic course but very changeling. The greens were BRUTAL.

Found 2 non-feathered birdies but 3 armadillo doubles for 10-over 82.

Around 8:15 am yesterday the weatherman said go golfing!

So I called Tenison Park and asked if there was room for a walk-on around 10:00 on the Highland course, he said sure got a spot at 9:40 come on out and hung up.
I call back to confirm the 9:40, he then says we do not take reservations for a single. I reply what if I pay you by phone now, him nope. So I haul azz get there and it was still open, he said I would be joining a group of 3.

Get my cart drive to the truck, load my sticks and there are three Asian people arguing like hell in their language next to a golf cart? They take off right before me towards the #1 tee box. It is 9:32 they are on the tee box and I tell the starter that I have a 9:40. He grins and says you are suppose to play with the Koreans but they will not play with anyone but their own kind, he then said they play fast and they did.

I ended up teeing off by myself and had the first 13 holes to myself. Finally two golfers caught up to me and they were dayum good. Both around 30’ish, chick was from France and plays professionaly on one of the tours, the guy works for a sports marketing firm for the LIV tour and they both just crushed the ball. Great day to be outdoors.

On #3 I hit a decent drive and decided to hit another for fun, it was dang near the exact distance and spot.

[Linked Image]

# 5 par 3 walk up to the tee box and the sprinklers that water the green come on ugh, wait until they are through and play.
# 6 about to hit onto the green and the sprinklers go off on this one also bang should have brought a bar of soap and got my weekly shower in.

Get through jump in the truck to head home, its 1:30 and a 30 + minute drive home so I decided to stop and try Fish and Tails Oyster House on Buckner Rd. in Dallas.
Ordered the daily special for only $7.99 with ice tea. The Catfish meat was soft/mushy with very little texture (wonder if it was actually Catfish) cornmeal batter, fries and hush puppies were good.

Koreans take their golf SERIOUSLY. Even the 70-year old ladies... in their little mini golf skirts and visors. Cute, actually. I bet those guys were fully decked out from head to toe in high dollar golf attire too, yes?

Was going to hunt Wednesday pm through Sunday but a good friend from out of town called Wednesday morning, said he was driving up and wanted to play a round on Thursday at Westridge in McKinney.
My buddy is pretty good and loves to talk trash the whole time which can be annoying at times. So Wednesday pm I go to the driving range and hit a small bucket of balls, hit them pretty darn good.

We teed off at 12:06 and we both sucked, yet it was a nice day to have a couple of beers and banter with a fellow Butt Head!

I like Westridge. That 3 par 5's, 3 par 4's and 3 par 5's layout is fun to play.
